It’s starting to look like Dak Prescott franchise tag rumors are legit. The Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott have until Wednesday to come to terms on a long-term deal. However, it is unlikely that the two sides will come to an agreement on a new deal by then because there are no scheduled talks between the Cowboys and Prescott’s agent Todd France.
Even though things can change between now and then, it is unlikely that the two sides will come to an agreement on a long-term deal in less than 48 hours considering how slow negotiations have gone between the two sides since last offseason.
After months of negotiation, Prescott signed the exclusive franchise tag tender worth $31.4 million on June 22 that guaranteed he would not miss any of training camp. However, if they don’t agree to a deal by 4 p.m. ET Wednesday, Prescott will have to play the season on the tag and the sides can’t talk again about a long-term deal until January.
Dallas Cowboys Dak Prescott Franchise Tag News
If the Cowboys use the franchise tag on Prescott after the season, he will make $37.7 million in 2021. However, he will be less likely to sign a contract extension with the team if they use the tag on him in consecutive years.
According to reports, the biggest hang up between the two sides during contract negotiations was the length of the new deal.
The Cowboys have offered Prescott five-year deals, while France has countered with four-year options.
In March, Dallas offered Prescott a deal that averaged $34.5 million, which was second to Russell Wilson’s $35. The deal also reportedly had a guarantee of $110 million, which is similar to what Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jarred Goff received last summer.
However, with Patrick Mahomes agreeing to a 10-year deal worth $503 million, Prescott’s asking price will likely go up, especially if he leads the Cowboys back to the Super Bowl this season.
Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku has requested that the Browns trade him before the start of training camp. This David Njoku trade request is not surprising.
The 23-year-old tight end, who was selected with the 29th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, played in only four games last season. This after suffering a concussion. Also, a broken wrist in Week 2. Finishing the year with five receptions for 41 yards and one touchdown.
During the 2018 season he had 56 catches for 639 yards and four touchdowns.
Despite the limited action he saw last season, the Browns had been impressed with his performance. Since he joined the team and announced in April that they would exercise Njoku’s fifth-year option. An option worth $6.4 million. That’s a hefty sum.
While the Browns have expressed interest in keeping him on the team, Njoku is not sure Cleveland is the right fit for him anymore. This after the team spent the offseason adding depth to the position by signing Pro Bowl tight end Austin Hooper to a four-year, $44 million deal with $23 million guaranteed in March, and drafting Harrison Bryant in the fourth round of the 2020 draft.
Rumors of David Njoku Trade
Even though new tight end coach Kevin Stefanski believes all three players will get significant playing time, Njoku doesn’t feel he will get enough touches and wants to play on a team that will put his talent to good use.
“It is in David’s best interest to find a new team at this time,” Njoku’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said.
With the Browns having Njoku under contract for another year, the team likely won’t be in a rush to trade their young tight end. Especially if there is an injury at the position during training camp. Anything is possible. However, if Hooper plays as well as he did last year and Bryant emerges as a quality backup, the Browns will likely grant Njoku his wish. Where will Njoku land?
The NY Giants have told cornerback DeAndre Baker to stay away from team meetings. On Thursday, the Miramar Police Department issued an arrest warrant. The warrant for New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker. Baker, who is accused of allegedly robbing guests at a party at gunpoint.
Baker, who turned himself in on Saturday, is facing four counts of armed robbery. Also, four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm from an incident that occurred Wednesday night in Miramar, Florida. He was granted bond at $200,000 ($25,000 for each charge) on Sunday morning after spending the night in the Broward Sheriff’s Office jail.
After the arrest warrant was issued, the Giants told reporters that they had been in contact with the two-year veteran. He had been participating in most of the voluntary virtual offseason meetings and activities that began in late April.
According to reports, the Giants have told Baker to stay away from team meetings. Furthermore, focus on his legal issues at this time. Baker will also be facing a lengthy suspension from the league once its investigation is over.
NY Giant Having Trouble with DeAndre Baker
Broward County Judge Michael Davis also ordered that Baker and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who was allegedly at the scene with Baker, to remain in Florida at this time. The judge noted the topic would be revisited if the players have to go out of state for work when the season starts.
Dunbar faces four counts of armed robbery. He was granted a $100,000 bond ($25,000 for each charge) on Sunday. The state had asked for no bond for both Dunbar and Baker.
Upon his release on Sunday, Baker was ordered to surrender his carry permit and firearm. He along with Dunbar were also told that they should not have any contact with the victims as part of their standard pre-trial conditions.
According to the arrest warrant, Baker and Dunbar are accused of stealing money and watches with force while armed with semiautomatic firearms. The warrant also states that Baker intentionally threatened victims with a firearm.
Cincinnati Bengals rookie quarterback Joe Burrow hasn’t signed a contract with the team. This since he was selected with the number one overall pick in last month’s NFL draft. What’s Bengals contract?
Even though he is eager to sign a deal with the team, Burrow hasn’t signed the deal. For the reason that he is being cautious due to the spread of the coronavirus. Really?
Yes. “We’re just waiting to see what happens over the next three months. Because we really don’t know.” Burrow said Friday on the “Pardon my Take” podcast.
When he eventually signs the new deal, Burrow is projected to receive a $23.9 million signing bonus from the Bengals. Talk about a huge bonus!
Like Burrow, other high first-round picks are expected to take longer to sign than usual this year. Furthermore, because of the pandemic and the potential revenue losses that could result.
Will Joe Burrow Sign Bengals Contract?
Even though there is no concern that any of the deals won’t eventually get done. It is possible that some would want to hold on to signing bonus money a little bit longer than they would in a normal year due to the uncertainty with teams as they build their budgets with the potential for lost stadium and TV revenue in mind.
Firstly, Burrow’s contract situation hasn’t affected his preparation for the upcoming season. During a virtual teleconference with local reporters on Friday, head coach Zac Taylor said the team worked with the rookies last weekend. Instead of the traditional minicamp, for instance.
Secondly, Burrow was drafted #1. “We got three days with the rookies,” Taylor said, “so we got a chance to bring them up to speed on the things they’ve missed the week before with the veterans.” Many are also concerned when the season will start, for example. Will it be on time?
For his part, Burrow is glad that the draft is over. Also, is more than ready to get on the field.
“It was more along the lines of relief, you know, ‘I’m glad this is over, let’s finally start to get back to football,'” Burrow said on the podcast. “Instead of talking, we can get back on the field. Hopefully soon.”
The Houston Texans shocked a lot of NFL insiders thus improving their betting on NFL odds. This was when they decided to trade All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals. Trade for David Johnson, a second round pick in this year’s draft and a fourth round pick in the 2021 draft.
After shipping Hopkins off to Arizona, the Houston Texans signed veteran receiver Randall Cobb to replace him. Was this a good move?
“I think obviously with DeAndre [Hopkins] leaving, it’s going to be a lot of eyes on all three of us [wide receivers Will Fuller, Kenny Stills and Cobb] to step up and make some plays,” Cobb said in a teleconference with Houston media. “In particular me, because a lot of people are looking at me coming in and being a replacement, even though me and DeAndre are two totally different types of receivers.”
Cobb, who played for the Dallas Cowboys last season, had 55 catches for 828 yards. Also, and three touchdowns in 15 games. He will give the Texans a reliable slot receiver. Which is a position the Texans have struggled to fill since head coach Bill O’Brien was hired in 2014.
Updated Betting on NFL Odds and Picks
Cobb said he signed with the Houston Texans. For the reason that he will have the opportunity to do things similar to what he did when he played for Green Bay. Where he spent his first eight seasons, and the opportunity to play with Deshaun Watson.
“The reason I picked the Texans is obviously you look at what they’ve been able to do over the past few years.” Cobb said. “Went to the playoffs four of the past five times. At this point in my career, I still don’t have a ring. So I want to be in a situation where I have that possibility. And I think when you look at Deshaun [Watson] and what he’s been able to do since he’s been in the league.
“I’ve been really impressed from afar. Watching him. He has tremendous ability, and he’s a winner. He’s won at every level. … I think he has that ability to take us to a Super Bowl. Also, I want to be a part of something special with him.”

With only one game left in the regular season, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, who is in the final year of his contract and 16th season in the league, can’t seem to avoid questions about his future.
After the team’s loss to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, Rivers was once again asked about his plans after the season ends and told reporters he plans to continue playing.
“I’m capable enough physically and mentally, there’s no question,” Rivers said after the game. “Yes, I do want to play football. I do, and that’s how I feel deep down as I stand here.”
Rivers added that he will talk it over with his family and noted that the Chargers quarterback front office has the final say.
“There’s a lot of factors,” Rivers said. “There’s a personal side and family side to mine. I’m going to have a daughter in college as well, too. So time is ticking, and I’ve got a sixth-grade son that I’ve got to get ready to coach at some point, so there’s all kinds of factors.”
“But I know I can still do it, and I know I can still do it at a high enough level for us to win. I have not done it well enough this year, but I still do love to play, and love to lead these guys and this team.
L.A. Chargers Quarterback Hunt On?
It’s been an array of things that have compounded, to keep us from winning enough games to advance into the tournament.”
Even though he has thrown 24 interceptions this season, Rivers believes he still has all the physical tools to be a starting quarterback.
“It’s probably human nature when you’re 38 and you throw some interceptions in games and they don’t go the way you want them to, that it can become, and that’s what people say: ‘You can’t make the throw you used to make’ or ‘You can’t do this’ — arm strength and all of that,” Rivers said.
“And just none of that is true. I’ve made some throws this year that have been as good as throws that I’ve made in any years of my career, but I’m not here to sell that. So physically and what I’m able to do as the Chargers quarterback is just what I was able to do last year when we were rolling and having one of our best years. Even in some of these games the last few weeks, we’ve had some really good plays offensively.”

Upsets can and do happen in sports and you should always factor that into your handicapping. How does this impact Super Bowl betting? If you do, you’ll be able to make more profitable bets.
With the NFL playoffs around the corner today we preview 2020 Super Bowl odds. In terms of NFL online betting, the Baltimore Ravens have the best odds to win Super Bowl LIV.
The Tennessee Titans finished with a 9-7 record for the third consecutive season, but u like the 2017 season, it wasn’t enough for them to make the playoffs last season after finishing in third place in the AFC South. This year, the team will be trying to get back into the playoffs but they will need to play better than they did last season, especially on the offensive end.
The Titans got some insurance for oft injured quarterback Marcus Mariota by signing former Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Do the Titans have a shot at 2020 Super Bowl odds? Tannehill did not look impressive last season because he was coming off a missed season, but if he plays like he did before his 201 injury, should be more than capable of filling in if Mariota goes down again.
Online 2020 Super Bowl Odds for NFL
Tennessee lost guards Josh Kline and Quinton Spain, but they picked up Rodger Saffold and selected Nate Davis in the third round of the draft, hoping he can become a starter at some point. They also added some depth at the wide receiver position by signing Adam Humphries and selecting A.J. Brown in the second round of the draft.
The Titans defense gave up 18.9 points per game last season, which was third best in the league. The team will be bring most of their starters from last season with the exception of linebacker Brian Orokpo, who decided to retire after failing to finish another season healthy. Currently the Titans do not have favorable 2020 Super Bowl odds.
If Tennessee’s defense holds up like it did last year, they will be a tough team to beat. If their offense is significantly better than it was last season, they will have a good chance of winning the division and getting back into the playoffs. However, the team will need Mariota health and at his best to have a chance. The Titans 2020 Super Bowl odds are +7000.
Looking for Raiders Super Bowl Odds? Super Bowl 2020 is just around the corner after NFL Week 11. The Oakland Raiders rewound the clock last season when they brought back former head coach Jon Gruden to lead the team back to the playoffs.
Instead of trying to make the playoffs with the roster he had, Gruden decided to embark on a rebuild, which led to the team finishing with a 4-12 record, which was good for last place in the division.
The Raiders kicked off the offseason by making a splash, trading for former Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro receiver Antonio Brown, who will give quarterback Derek Carr the best offensive weapon he has had since he came into the league. How will this impact Raiders Super Bowl odds?
The team also signed former New England Patriots offensive lineman Trent Brown. Brown will help upgrade the offensive line. Safety Lamarcus Joyner who was with the Los Angeles Rams last season, also signed with the Raiders.
2020 Raiders Super Bowl Odds for Betting
Oakland went into the NFL draft loaded with draft picks. The team used to mostly upgrade its defense. The Raiders used their first pick on former Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell. Secondly, used their second first round pick on former Alabama running back Josh Jacobs. Their third first-round pick was used on former Mississippi State safety Johnathan Abram, and their second round pick on former Clemson cornerback Trayvon Mullen.
The Raiders Super Bowl odds got some talented draft picks. However, their fans will have to wait until they are on the field to see how much they can contribute this season.
With the level of talent the team got in free agency and the draft, the Raiders will finish with a better record than they had last season.
However, the team likely won’t finish over .500. For the reason that they have a schedule that includes four games against tough teams. The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers as well as playoff teams from last season like the Chicago Bears, Houston Texan, and Indianapolis Colts. The Oakland Raiders Super Bowl odds to win are +6600. Do the Raiders have a decent shot? No.
Today we preview Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl odds for 2020. The Minnesota Vikings finished the 2017 season with the best record in the league. Also, made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game. For this reason expectations were very high for the team going into last season.
Unfortunately for the team and their fans, they finished with an 8-7-1 record, which was good for second place in the division.
This offseason, the team is hoping last year’s prized acquisition Kirk Cousins is more comfortable running their offense. Also, can help the Minnesota Vikings return to the playoffs. Even though most of the blame for their disappointing season was placed on Cousins, their defense, which was one of the best in the NFL the previous season. Also, share a large part of the blame.
The Vikings were able to retain most of their core players during the offseason. Resigning players like linebacker Anthony Barr, who had agreed to a new deal with the New York Jets before backing out at the last minute. They also managed to keep restricted free agent Anthony Harris, who has spent the last four years with the Vikings.
Betting on the Minnesota Vikings Online
The Minnesota Vikings offensive line took the biggest hit during the offseason with Mike Remmers, Nick Easton and Tom Compton leaving in free agency. These moves have already helped going into NFL Week 9.
They tried to address the departures by signing former Tennessee Titans guard Josh Kline. Secondly, selecting former North Carolina State center Garrett Bradbury with the 18th pick in the draft. Including former Oklahoma guard Dru Samia in the fourth round of the draft. What does this mean for LIV Super Bowl odds?
The Minnesota Vikings expect their offense to improve from last season with Cousins more comfortable in their system. Another plus is running back Delvin Cook healthy after an injury-plagued season. However, they will need their defense to return to its 2017 form if they want to dethrone the Bears in the NFC North. Their odds to win the Super Bowl is +2200.
Looking for a Drew Brees injury update? The New Orleans Saints news and their fans had a lot of cause for concern on Sunday. This was after quarterback Drew Brees left the game. He left in the first quarter after injuring his thumb on his throwing hand. The injury was severe enough to prevent him from returning to the game. Also, it is expected to keep him sidelined even longer after the team announced that their quarterback will need surgery to fix the thumb.
Firstly, Brees had his right thumb and lower hand/wrist area taped by a trainer on the bench. The veteran QB remained on the sideline for the rest of the game in uniform. After the game, he acknowledged that he was “concerned” about the severity of the injury.
Secondly according to reports, Brees is still trying to determine who will perform the Drew Brees injury surgery and when. In the meantime, the Saints news are expected to go with Teddy Bridgewater as their quarterback, for instance. This, after making him the highest paid backup quarterback in the league with a one-year $7.25 million deal he received in the offseason.
Saints News Update for Drew Brees Injury Timeline
Therefore, Bridgewater finished the game for Brees. TB went 17 of 30 for 165 yards in the 27-9 loss to the Rams. It was only the third time that the Saints failed to score a touchdown under coach Sean Payton, who took over in 2006.
Payton showed his support for Bridgewater after the game. Calling Teddy a “pro” who was ready to go after Brees was hurt. He also blamed a lot of Bridgewater’s struggles on the Saints’ offensive line. The line getting “whupped” up front and a slew of drive-killing penalties. How bad is the Drew Brees injury?
“I felt comfortable with Teddy and do feel comfortable with Teddy,” Payton said.
Brees has missed only one start because of injury since high school when he was ruled out of a Week 3 game against the Carolina Panthers in 2015 with a shoulder injury. His absence will end his streak of starting at least 15 games in 15 straight seasons. All good things come to an end.
It’s official, Antonio Brown has signed with the New England Patriots. The Antonio Brown saga took an interesting turn over the weekend and saw the player, who was expected to start for the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football signing with the defending Super Bowl champions after being released by the Raiders on Saturday.
Firstly, Brown asked to be released by the Raiders in an Instagram post earlier Saturday. Oakland had fined him $215,073.53 for conduct detrimental to the New England Patriots. In addition, after he got into an altercation with general manager Mike Mayock he was fined. The move voided the $29.125 million of guaranteed money in Brown’s deal.
Patriots Super Bowl 2020 Odds
Secondly, after Brown’s release, Raiders coach Jon Gruden said, “I tell you, he’s a good guy. Misunderstood by a lot of people. He’s a good guy. He’s a great player, and I hope he gets what he’s looking for.”
Therefore, according to reports, New England Patriots are giving Brown a one-year deal worth up to $15 million. Above all, it includes a $9 million signing bonus, another $1 million guaranteed and $5 million in incentives.
Antonio Brown Contract Update
“I’ll just tell you that the Patriots are obviously a very solid, strong organization,” said Brown’s agent Drew Rosenhaus, who also represented now-retired Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, for instance. “They do things the Patriots Way. Everyone is expected to be accountable. They don’t make any exceptions. I’ve discussed this with Antonio. And he wants to be a Patriot. He’s prepared to go there, fit in, work hard, be like every other player on the team, do what’s asked of him, do his job and make it work. He’s honored with the opportunity and he’s looking forward to taking advantage of it.”
“Antonio had a robust free-agent market and certainly had a lot of options,” Rosenhaus said. “But it was hard to compete with New England Patriots and that amazing opportunity, that great franchise, and play with one of the all-time greats, Tom Brady, and Bill Belichick.”
In conclusion, the Patriots are 6-1 favorites to win Super Bowl 2020.
Looking for NFL team odds for Super Bowl 2020? The NFL is wide open in terms of which team will make it to the Super Bowl in 2020. Most people would suggest that the Rams are the sexy pick to make the SuperBowl. However, there is a phenomon known as the Super Bowl curse which says that teams who lose in the Super Bowl tend to come back the next year and have a down season. This doesn’t seem to apply to Tom Brady but it does seem to apply to other teams throughout the league.
There isn’t a “Curse” so to say, but many NFL teams just lose talent while other teams acquire talent therefore giving the losing division more competition leading into the next season. The unpredictability of the NFL is what makes it so much fun watch.

The details of the Antonio Brown foot injury have come out. What does this mean for Oakland Raiders betting?
Last week, the biggest news coming out of NFL training camps was the fact that Oakland’s newly acquired All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown. Brown, who forced his way out of Pittsburgh at the end of the season, hasn’t been participating in practice. Will this impact team chemistry?
At first, Brown’s injury was referred to as a sore foot. Also, reporters were told he would return to practice soon. When they still didn’t see Brown on the field, they were told by team representatives that they were being cautious with Brown. Many took the news at face value.
On Wednesday, it was revealed that the reason Brown hadn’t been practicing was because of extreme frostbite. This was caused by a cryotherapy machine. Brown was not wearing appropriate footwear when he entered the cryotherapy chamber last month in France. Thus, he burned his feet, leaving them frostbitten. Grossly pictures below.
Brown, 31, has missed a significant portion of his first training camp with the Raiders and has not practiced since July 30, when he left the team to visit a foot specialist.
Update for Brown Foot Injury
According to head coach Jon Gruden, Brown was “still collecting information” on the Antonio Brown foot injury, and that the team would know more in the next few days.
“You know me, it is like waiting for Santa Claus,” Gruden said of anticipating Brown’s return. “I have been really excited to coach this man. I think he is a great player and he is a great competitor. We need his life in this offense and on this football team. We will just cross our fingers. I will make no speculation whatsoever. He has to get it evaluated. He has to get the information he needs, and when he does, he will be back.”
The good news for raiders fans is that even though Brown has been unable to practice with his new teammates, he is expected back on the field soon because the team does not think the Antonio Brown foot injury is a long-term one.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is entering the final year of the four-year extension he signed in 2015. Even though the Chargers have not offered him a new deal, Rivers said he is content to play out the final year of his deal.
“I feel fine playing this thing out,” Rivers said on SiriusXM NFL Radio, per Pro Football Talk. “The expectation and hope is to be here again next year, but it doesn’t need to be done right now. If it were to sometime soon, great. If not, let’s play it out and worry about it in the winter.”
Rivers is coming off one of his best seasons as a pro. He completed 68.3 percent of his passes for 4,308 yards, 32 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, leading the Chargers to the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
The 37-year-old quarterback’s play and leadership has made the decision to keep him around for the foreseeable a future an easy one for Chargers’ management.
Chargers & Philip Rivers Put Contract on Hold
“We’re on the same page with Phil. We’ve talked about it. He’s our leader now and in the future and we’re in a good place,” Chargers general manager Tom Telesco told NFL Network this week. “We’ll still have those talks, but really right now we’re focused on, and he’s focused on playing right now.”
While Rivers plans on playing out the final year of his deal, running back Melvin Gordon is expected to hold out f training camp in hope of securing a new deal with the team instead of playing out the final year of his rookie contract.
Rivers said over the weekend that he sympathizes with Gordon and can’t wait to have him back on the field.
“You want our team to have the best chance to win,” Philip Rivers said. “Hopefully we see Melvin soon. I think Melvin adds a great deal to our team.”
The Miami Dolphins have waived injured Kendrick Norton. However, they also plan to pay his salary.
On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins announced that they have waived defensive tackle Kendrick Norton. Norton had his left arm amputated following a car crash near Miami earlier this month. This with a non-football injury designation.
By placing the 22-year-old Norton on the reserve/non-football injury list, the team is able to pay his full salary. Similar to what the Pittsburgh Steelers did for linebacker Ryan Shazier after he suffered a spine injury in 2017. The team also announced that all of Norton’s medical bills will be covered by the NFL’s and Dolphins’ insurance policies. Tough break for a rising young star.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Norton’s Ford F-250 crashed into a concrete barrier on State Road 836 in the early hours of July 4.
The report also stated that drugs or alcohol were not suspected as a factor for either of the drivers involved in the accident. The former University of Miami player underwent at least six surgeries before he was released from the hospital last week.
Miami Dolphins 2019-2020 News
“I just want to give a big thank-you. First of all, to God for me still being here. Second of all, to Jackson Medical Center. They did a great job. They took great care of me while I was in here,” Norton told reporters outside the hospital. “Next, I would like to thank the Miami Dolphins family. They’ve been crazy with how much help they’ve been willing to give and, you know, they really didn’t have to.”
Norton, who confirmed that his playing career is over after the accident, is hoping to get a prosthetic arm as he transitions to life after football. He was selected in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. Also, was signed off the Panthers’ practice squad by the Dolphins.
Before his injury, Norton was expected to compete for a spot on the team’s 53-man roster.
Running Back Duke Johnson is not concerned with a fallout from the Cleveland Browns. This of course comes after his recent comments.
The Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson surprised a lot of people this offseason. This was when he demanded a trade from the Browns. This came at the start of OTAs.
At the time he made the demand, Johnson told reporters that the Browns had indicated that they did not want to keep him around. This was after trying to trade him last season. Just a few months after he had signed a contract extension with the team.
“I only want to be somewhere I’m wanted,” Duke Johnson said June 4 before the first practice of the team’s three-day mandatory minicamp. “At the end of the day, that’s all this is about, being somewhere you’re wanted. In my case, the moment I’m not wanted anymore. I think it’s best that we find a middle ground and we do what’s best for the team. If you don’t want me here, there’s no need to keep me or force me to be here.”
The Browns’ signing of former Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt, who is suspended for the first eight games of the regular season, also made Johnson feel like the odd man out.
Johnson and Mayfield Having Feud
Quarterback Baker Mayfield stirred things up when he called Johnson’s situation self-inflicted during a recent interview.
“Obviously, he’s going to handle his stuff how he wants. However, you’re either on this train or you’re not,” Mayfield said the same day. “It’s moving. You can get out of the way or you can join us. So it is what it is.”
Despite his trade demand and Mayfield’s comments, Duke Johnson does not plan on holding out and is expected to report to training camp, but don’t expect him to fret about any awkwardness caused by his demand or Mayfield’s comments.
“I don’t really concern myself with that,” he said, adding that he would address the issue at training camp if asked.
Is there already trouble brewing in the Cleveland Browns locker room?
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is making some noise. McCoy signed with the rival Carolina Panthers this offseason. He is upset that the Buccaneers gave his No. 93 to Ndamukong Suh. This was shortly after releasing him. Also, he felt disrespected by the lack of communication with the New Tampa bay coaching staff prior to the team cutting him.
“I’m one of the best players to ever play in the organization. I’m going to say it — usually I wouldn’t, but I’m going to say it. It kind of shows the respect and how they feel about me,” he said.
Gerald McCoy, who is third in franchise history with 54.5 sacks, signed a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers earlier this month. Suh signed a one-year deal with the team shortly after Tampa Bay released McCoy.
“It may seem like it’s just a number, but it’s bigger than that. It’s respect. That was a big part of the separation between me and Tampa, period, was the respect they showed to me all offseason. It just wasn’t there,” he said.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl Odds
McCoy added that he is particularly bothered by the silent treatment he got from head coach Bruce Arians and his staff before he was released, saying he didn’t get any phone calls from any of the coaches.
“I spoke to more people in Baltimore’s, Cleveland’s and Carolina’s staff than I spoke to the Bucs all offseason, and that’s a fact,” he said.
Gerald McCoy Looking Ahead
“I earned that respect,” McCoy added. “Tampa hasn’t been a winning team, and we all know it’s hard to be considered a Pro Bowl, All-Pro person on a losing team, and I did it six years straight. That’s hard to do. For the respect I received after doing that, they showed none, and I don’t know why.”
One thing is for sure, Gerald McCoy is looking forward to facing the Buccaneers twice this season.
Asked if he had the dates circled in red, he said, “No, it’s in blue now. It’s going to be fun. I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
Alshon Jeffery is upset. The Philadelphia Eagles will not get a chance to defend their Super Bowl title after falling to the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional round of the playoffs. The loss not only meant the end of their playoff run, it may also be the last time backup quarterback Nick Foles put on an Eagles jersey.
With that said, after the game, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, who tipped a pass that was intercepted in the final seconds of the game, blamed himself for costing his teammates a chance to win the game.
“That’s on me. I’ll take that loss. It’s on me,” he said. “I let my teammates down, the city of Philadelphia, that’s on me. I’ll take that.”
Even though the play led to the Saints sealing the win, Jeffery’s teammates feel he is being too hard on himself and credited his play for helping the team win the Super Bowl last season.
Super Bowl 53 News
“He’s one of the best players on this football team. That game wasn’t decided by that play, number one,” Ertz said. “Two, we wouldn’t change the playcall. And three, we’re not in this situation without him. That’s the bottom line. He is one of the best receivers in the league. There are not many guys who are able to make plays continually like he does. Does he catch that ball 99 times out of 100? Yeah. [Does he catch it] 999,999 out of a million? Yeah. It’s tough to end like that … but he should know that play didn’t decide this game.”
Furthermore, right tackle Lane Johnson also backed up Jeffery.
“There’s nobody that works harder. The guy has broken ribs and toughed it out for his teammates. He doesn’t have to say nothing. We had plenty of opportunities to win this game. It’s not one guy’s fault.”
Even though he is upset about dropping the pass that could have led to the game-winning touchdown, Jeffrey remains optimistic about next season.
In conclusion it wasn’t his fault. “It happens to the best of us,” Jeffery said of the drop. “We move on. It hurts right now, but I guarantee you we’ll be back next year, for sure.”
Super Bowl 2019 is just around the corner. In this NFL playoffs update read Super Bowl 53 predictions. The Baltimore Ravens needed a win over the Cleveland Browns in the final week of the regular season to win the AFC North and host a Wildcard game. Unfortunately, the man that led the team to the playoffs struggled in his debut. The Ravens were eliminated by the Los Angeles Chargers after losing the game 23-17. This was a shock.
During the first half of the game, rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson completed only two of his passes. Jackson was 3-10 for 25 yards and one interception through the first three quarters. Also, with the offense struggling fans started to boo Jackson. Calling for former starter Joe Flacco, who was replaced as the starter after a 4-5 start to the season.
After the game, head coach John Harbaugh, who didn’t bench his rookie quarterback, said he did not regret the decision even though the team lost.
“In the end — talk about the fourth quarter — Lamar played really well in two-minute,” Harbaugh said. “I don’t think Joe would have played any better in two-minute. You have to say, based on that part of it [and] at that point in time in the game, it was the right decision.”
Super Bowl 2019
Harbaugh also indicated that Jackson was the team’s quarterback of the future and Flacco likely won’t be back next season. You can wager on Super Bowl 2019 at these recommened betting sites.
“Lamar is our quarterback going forward — no question about that,” He might be able to help us get to a Super Bowl. Harbaugh said. “Joe Flacco is going to play really well in this league.
Joe can still play, and I think we saw that, first half of the season. He is going to have a market. A lot of teams are going to want Joe. I’ll be in Joe’s corner, wherever he’s at, unless we play him.”
After the game, Flacco was asked if he thought he could have made a difference.
“No, no, you can’t even go there, man,” said Flacco. “I thought Lamar did a great job of just hanging in there. You know, he gave us a chance at the end.”

Looking for an updated NFL playoff picture 2019? Colts at Texans betting up next. The NFL Wildcard playoffs will kick off with a rubber match between AFC South rivals. This when the Indianapolis Colts travel to NRG Stadium to take on the Houston Texans. The game will be played on Saturday, January 5, and it is scheduled to begin at 4:35 PM. ET.
The Colts overcame a 1-5 start. This was by winning nine of their last 10 games. Helping them finish one game behind the Texans in the division. Also, they are going into this game riding a four-game winning streak. Which includes a 24-21 win over the Texans in Houston.
Andrew Luck has been brilliant during the team’s run and will be expected to lead the team to victory once again.
The Colts have done a good job on both offense and defense down the stretch. Also, they didn’t have any problems blowing out the Tennessee Titans on the road. This win was to seal their playoff berth. Expect the team to come out with a lot of confidence in what is expected to be one of the best games of the weekend. Do you agree?
Colts at Texans NFL Playoffs
Like the Colts, the Texans overcame a slow start to the season and managed to win the division thanks to a nine-game winning streak in the middle of the season. Since the streak ended, they split their last four games, which might be cause for concern for some of their fans.
Deshaun Watson continued to impress, becoming the first player in NFL history to throw for over 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns and also rush for over 500 yards and five rushing touchdowns. DeAndre Hopkins also had a big season, becoming the fourth player in NFL history to have 100 catches, 1,500 yards and 11 touchdowns in multiple seasons.
Defensively, the Texans looked great against the Jacksonville Jaguars, holding their rivals to three points. They will need big performances from J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney to beat the Colts on Saturday.
The Texans are favored to win the game by 2.5 points. The over/under on the total points scored is 47.5.
The Colts have looked very good in their last 10 games and have enough firepower to hand with the Texans. Take Indianapolis +2.5.
D.J. Swearinger is known for speaking his mind. However, his mouth cost him his job as the Washington Redskins confirmed his release on Monday afternoon. What does this mean for the Redskins? Not much. They are still not a playoff team.
The move by the Redskins comes two days after Swearinger made critical remarks. Comments about defensive coordinator Greg Manusky’s play calling. after their loss to the Tennessee Titans over the weekend, which eliminated them from the playoffs.
Also, according to D.J. Swearinger, he was called into head coach Jay Gruden’s office where he was told he was being released.
“He just said it was the third time I’ve been in his office and we’re going to release you,” Swearinger told co-host Grant Paulsen. “And that was that.
“I don’t have words for this. Had a Pro Bowl year. I was a captain in year one, and this year I thought I improved on everything and I did a slap in the face and get released. Gave it my all and put my heart into it every single week to the best I could. I guess it says a lot about the organization.”
Therefore, before his release, Gruden told reporters he was disappointed in Swearinger.
Washington Redskins News
“We made it pretty clear that we try to keep our business within these walls,” Gruden said, “and we’ve had many a talk before about that and unfortunately he chose to go to the media again and talk about his displeasure with some of the calls. I know Coach Manusky works extremely hard, as does the rest of the staff, to put together a game plan, and unfortunately we didn’t get it done.”
Furthermore, D.J. Swearinger, who was named a captain last season, said that Gruden and the coaching staff did not want him to be a captain this season because he criticized the team during the offseason.
In conclusion he had this to say. “It’s not rocket science. Why I wasn’t captain,” Swearinger told the show. “I’m a vocal guy, passionate guy that wants to win. If the coaches feel I’m too smart or a weapon as far as my smarts are concerned. They got to release the guy that has knowledge or has respect in the locker room I guess.”
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles took a big hit from Houston Texans pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney late in their game on Sunday, leaving him writhing in pain. However, Foles was able to shake it off and was back under center after going to the sidelines for one play.
With Carson Wentz dealing with an injury as well, Eagles fans were worried they will have to rely on third stringer Nate Sudfeld to help them clinch a playoff berth when they face the Washington Redskins this week.
Even Sudfeld thought he might have to become the team’s starter after watching Foles after the hit.
“I thought he was out. He was laying there forever,” Sudfeld said. “I didn’t know if he was out for forever or freaking one day. You have no idea.”
Fortunately for the Eagles, not only was Foles able to return to the game, he led the drive that led to the team’s game-winning field goal against the Texans.
Philadelphia Eagles News
“We get confused sometimes because he’s a backup quarterback; he just happens to be Carson Wentz’s backup,” said safety Malcolm Jenkins. “He’s a player. He’s a Super Bowl MVP for a reason. Obviously, he’s pumped life back into this team, the offense, playing phenomenal right when we need it. But that’s Nick. He’s no different. It’s not like he rose to the occasion. This is what he’s made for.”
On Monday, Foles told reporters that he is feeling fine and is ready to play against the Redskins this week.
I’m great. Feel great,” Foles said when asked how the X-rays turned out.
“It was a great hit. He got a good one on me,” Foles said. “Trainers got out there, I was able to get my breath back. My rib’s a little sore but all in all, I feel great.”
With Foles feeling fine, the Eagles should be confident about their chances of beating the Redskins this week, but they will need some help from the Chicago Bears to make the playoffs.
The Seattle Seahawks suffered one of the most surprising losses over the weekend, losing to the San Francisco 49ers, a team they had defeated 10 consecutive times. The Seahawks were flagged by the referees 14 times for 148 yards, with the final flag costing them the game.
Cornerback Shaquill Griffin was called for a pass interference that set up the 49ers game-winning field goal, and he wasn’t very happy about the call after the game.
“The penalty that they called on me, it was a terrible call,” he said inside a silent Seahawks locker room, repeating a word he used a few times.
“I kinda knew they was going to try to call a penalty on someone the way they were calling penalties on offense, and I made sure as soon as I seen the pass in the air that I wasn’t going to touch him or grab him,” Griffin said. “I was just going to stick my hand out, knock it down and roll over. That’s exactly what I did. When I stood up and looked at the [official], he looked at me and threw it. So it’s something I can’t take back, and it sucks the way it ended, but it was a terrible call.”
Shaquill Griffin News
Head coach Pete Carroll refused to comment on the play because he didn’t get a good look at it. However, he was unhappy about his team’s lack of discipline.
“I can’t tell you,” Carroll said of the Griffin play. “I don’t know, but it surely happened right at the crucial times. The hold happens on the big play. That’s the big play for us to get out of there, and it’s just unfortunate. Just the way it goes sometimes. It’s not because we’re not trying. Guys were busting their tails to get it done, but we just went too far, I guess.”
“I don’t think any of that was what happened,” he said. “I think we were sloppy with the penalty situation. All of the numbers matched up to how we play. The running numbers, the third-down numbers were the best we’ve had in quite a while. Defense kept the numbers down, played really well in the second half, gave up a couple field goals. So we did a lot of really good things like we normally do.”
NFL Week 16 is upon us. The Philadelphia Eagles will be trying to keep their playoff hopes alive. This when they face the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon. The game will be played at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, December 23. It is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM. ET.
Furthermore, the Texans were able to bounce back from their loss to the Indianapolis Colts. This was with with a win over the New York Jets in their last game. Giving the Texans their 10th win in 11 games. The win also kept them two games ahead of the Colts in the AFC South. Also, a win over the Eagles will help them seal the division title.
Deshaun Watson continues to play well for the Texans. Watson has completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 3,597 yards, 24 touchdowns and nine interceptions. DeAndre Hopkins is putting together another Pro Bowl season with 94 catches for 1,321 yards and 11 touchdowns.
NFL Week 16 Betting Odds
If the Eagles can’t slow down Watson and Hopkins on Sunday, they will need a lot of help to make the playoffs this season.
The defending champions have struggled this season and find themselves in danger of failing to make the playoffs. With the team only half a game behind the Minnesota Vikings, who are in the final playoff spot in the NFC, the Eagles will need to win their last two games and hope the Vikings stumble at least once.
Carson Wentz suffered a back injury in their loss to the Cowboys in their previous game and the team had to turn back to Nick Foles, who led them to a win over the Los Angeles Rams. With the team hanging on by a thread, they will need another big game from Foles to make it back to the playoffs and defend their title.
They will also need a big game from their defense and find a way to slow down Hopkins, who has come up big for the Texans down the stretch.
The Houston Texans were favored to win the game by 1.5 points, but the line has moved and the odds are now even. The over/under on total points scored is 45. Enjoy these NFL Week 16 picks and predictions.
The Texans have played better than the Eagles this season but Philadelphia needs the win to keep its playoff hopes alive and should be able to get it in front of their crowd. Take the Eagles in this game.
The Philadelphia Eagles lost a close game to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, which dealt a big blow to their playoff hopes.
During the game, there were a lot of questionable calls made by the referees, most of which favored the Cowboys. One of the plays that stood out was a fumble by kick returner Jourdan Lewis, which was recovered by linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill, who emerged from the pile with the ball in his hands.
The officials initially ruled that Lewis was down, but the Eagles challenged the play and it was reversed upon review. However, the referees said Dallas retained possession of the ball, which didn’t make a lot of sense because Grugier-Gill ended up with the ball.
Instead of the Eagles getting the ball back in Cowboys territory, the officials gave the Cowboys the ball, and they scored a touchdown on the drive to take the early lead.
After the game, safety Malcolm Jenkins and his teammates were upset about the play and other mistakes by the officials, which they felt cost them a win. Malcolm Jenkins was obviously upset.
Philadelphia Eagles Miss Playoffs
“That was a pretty terrible call,” Jenkins said. “They reviewed it and the explanation I got was that it wasn’t a clear recovery, although Kamu had the ball in his hand and there was only Eagles defenders on the ball in replay. So whoever’s watching that in New York should stay off the bottle.”
Grugier-Hill echoed Jenkins’ sentiment when he was asked about the play, adding that the only players in the scrum were all Eagles players.
“They just said that the video didn’t show me getting up actually with the ball, but it was clear I had the ball, so I don’t understand,” he said.
“It was all green jerseys. It was all green jerseys.”
Despite having to deal with a loss due to poor officiating, Jenkins will likely have to pay a fine after his comments about the officials.
The Los Angeles Rams will be trying to bounce back from their loss to the Chicago Bears when they face the Philadelphia Eagles. Philadelphia is trying to stay alive in the NFC playoff race. The game will be played on Sunday, December 18 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Also, it is scheduled to begin at 8:20 PM. ET. Rams Vs Eagles odds coming up next.
The Eagles missed out on a great opportunity to move into a tie for first in the NFC East. This is when they lost to the Dallas Cowboys. The loss came in overtime. Thanks to the loss, they are all but out of the NFC East division race. However, they can still clinch one of the two wildcard spots in the conference if they win their last three games. Can it be done? Enjoy these Rams Vs Eagles odds.
Philadelphia has struggled offensively this season. They averaged 21.6 points per game. The team has struggled to run the ball this season as well. This is because of injuries to their best running backs. However, they will need to figure out a way to right the ship if they don’t want to miss the playoffs a year after winning the Super Bowl.
NFL Week 15 Betting
The Rams finally met their match this past weekend, losing to the Chicago Bears after scoring a season-low six points. Jared Goff, who has looked like an MVP candidate for most of the season, was harassed by the Bears and finished the game with 180 yards and four interceptions.
After failing to give their best player enough touches in the loss, expect to see plenty of Todd Gurley on Sunday night as the Rams try to get the top seed in the NFC playoffs.
The Rams finally played well on defense but their offense let them down. If they play as well as they did against the Bears, they should be able to beat the Eagles and stay tied with the New Orleans Saints for the best record in the conference.
Pick and Prediction
The Rams are favored to win this game by nine points. The over/under on total points scored is 52.
The Rams will be trying to keep pace with the Saints and the Eagles are trying to stay in the playoff picture, so expect a game that will be closer than expected. Take the Eagles +9 and the over in this game.
The Seattle Seahawks will be trying to stay alive in the NFC playoff race. This when they face the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football. The game will be played at CenturyLink Stadium on Monday, December 10. It is scheduled to begin at 8:20 PM. ET. Stay tuned for Week 14 NFL betting odds. Vikings at Seahawks coming up.
Coming into the season, the Vikings were one of the biggest favorites to win the Super Bowl. After 13 weeks, they look like a team that will be lucky to make the postseason. Chances are not likely.
The Vikings brought in Kirk Cousins in the offseason. This is because they wanted stability at the quarterback position. So far, Cousins has put up impressive numbers. However, doesn’t have enough wins to show for it. Minnesota’s defense, which was supposed to be a strength this season, has been very inconsistent. The defense struggled against the New England Patriots in their last game.
With so many teams still alive in the NFC playoff race, a loss to the Seahawks is something the Vikings can’t afford right now. However, if they want to get the win they will need to play better than they have so far this season.
Week 14 NFL Betting
The Seahawks weren’t expected to be in playoff contention this season after losing most of their vaunted defense and a few offensive players. Despite the losses, the team has managed to stay in the playoff race and have a chance to improve their odds of making the postseason with a win over the Vikings on Monday night.
Offensively, Russell Wilson has been doing his best to keep the Seahawks alive. The team is averaging 25.1 points per game thanks to Wilson completing 66 percent of his passes for 2,531 yards, 25 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
The Seahawks have also played well on the defensive end, giving up 22.1 points per game. They will need to continue playing well on both sides to beat the Vikings.
The Seahawks are favored to win this game by three points. The over/under on total points scored is 45.
The Vikings are in desperation mode, but they will have a hard time getting a win in the loudest stadium in the NFL. Take the Seahawks -3.
On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers lost a home game to the Arizona Cardinals, who are one of the worst teams in the league this season. The loss also knocked the Packers out of the playoff race, leaving a lot of people wondering if the Packers would make a coaching change after the season. It’s over Mike McCarthy.
However, the Packers opted not to waste any time and announced that they fired Super Bowl-winning head coach Mike McCarthy shortly after the game.
“The 2018 season has not lived up to the expectations and standards of the Green Bay Packers. As a result, I made the difficult decision to relieve Mike McCarthy of his role as head coach, effective immediately,” Packers president Mark Murphy said in a statement. “Mike has been a terrific head coach and leader of the Packers for 13 seasons, during which time we experienced a great deal of success on and off the field. We want to thank Mike, his wife, Jessica, and the rest of the McCarthy family for all that they have done for the Packers and the Green Bay and Wisconsin communities. We will immediately begin the process of selecting the next head coach of the Green Bay Packers.”
Green Bay Packers News
Before the team announced his firing, McCarthy was asked about being basically eliminated from the playoffs with four games left to play.
“I mean, I’ve never been in this spot,” McCarthy said in his postgame news conference. “I’m not going to act like I know what the hell I’m going to do tomorrow when they get in here. So we’re going to do what we always do: We’re going to represent the Packers the right way, I know that. Other than that, we’ll focus on what’s in front of us.”
McCarthy was 125-77-2 in 13 seasons with the Packers and had a 10-8 in the playoffs. He led the team to a Super Bowl win in 2010 and lost three NFC Championship games.
The Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers will be battling for a chance to finish with the tops seed in the AFC playoff race. This, when they face off this week. The game will be played on Sunday, December 2. It is scheduled to begin at 8:20 PM. ET. Next, Chargers at Steelers NFL Week 13 picks for betting.
The Chargers were able to bounce back from their surprising loss to the Denver Broncos in their previous win. This was with a big win over the Arizona Cardinals in their last game. They will now be trying to win their second game in a row. Also, eighth game in their last nine contests when they play the Steelers.
Also, Phillip Rivers has been sensational for the Chargers this season. He’s completing 69.5 percent of his passes for 3,119 yards, 26 touchdowns, and six interceptions. In his last game, he broke the record for consecutive completions to start a game and finished the game completing 28 of 29 passes for 259 yards and three touchdowns.
The Chargers might be without running back Melvin Gordon, who suffered a knee injury in the win over the Cardinals.
The Pittsburgh Steelers should be going for their eighth consecutive game on Sunday, but the team had their seven-game winning streak snapped by the Denver Broncos, who were dominated during the game but managed to pull off the win by taking advantage of several Pittsburgh miscues.
NFL Week 13 Picks for Betting
The Steeler will now be hoping for the Kansas City Chiefs to lose at least two more games to give them a chance to take the AFC’s top playoff seed.
Pittsburgh’s defense will have its hands full with the Chargers, especially with how well Rivers is playing right now. They will have the advantage of not having to worry about Gordon on the defensive end, which should allow them to go after Rivers early and often hoping to cause a turnover.
If the Steelers play as they did over the past month and avoid the costly mistakes they made against the Broncos, they should be able to get the win.
The Steelers are favored to win this game by 3.5 points. The over/under on total points scored is 52.
In conclusion, the Steelers have played well at home and the Chargers will be shorthanded, so take Pittsburgh -3.5. You should also take the over in this game because there will be a lot of points scored.
When the Oakland Raiders signed head coach Jon Gruden to a 10-year $100 million deal last offseason, expectations were high in Oakland with fans believing Gruden can lead them back into the playoffs this season. Finally, Oakland Raiders news next!
Unfortunately, things haven’t gone as planned in Oakland with Gruden gutting the team. Also, hoping to rebuild with a plethora of draft picks after trading away former Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack and Pro Bowl receiver Amari Cooper.
Things took a turn for the worse this week. This is when cameras caught Gruden and quarterback Derek Carr having a war of words on the sidelines. Once the video hit the internet, it quickly went viral with fans joking about Carr being the next player to be shipped off somewhere.
Rather, after the game, Gruden downplayed the incident. Telling reporters he and Carr have had heated conversations in the past and will likely have more in the future.
“That’s the first time you’ve seen it,” Gruden said with an impish grin, “but it isn’t the first time it’s happened. We’re both competitors. We’re competing hard there. We had a man-to-man situation and he went for the big play.
Oakland Raiders In Shambles
“We had a mild disagreement. But you know what, that’s part of this business. We’re going to have times where we clash a little bit but we’re also very supportive of one another. I’m really proud of him. He’s been through a lot this year, and I’m glad he’s our quarterback.”
Carr also tried to downplay the argument, saying he was surprised they haven’t been caught arguing on camera before.
“We’re both very fiery — a lot of people don’t see that in me, all the time — we’re both competitive,” Carr said. “A minor disagreement on something and the beautiful thing is, when we do that, it’s not a demeaning thing or pointing a finger. We’re both yelling the same kind of thing, almost: ‘Let’s fix it!’
“Everything’s good, I promise.”
Since the trade deadline has already passed, we will have to wait until the season is over to see how the situation plays out.
