The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins will renew their rivalry for the first time this season with the NFC East division lead on the line. The game will be played at AT&T Stadium in Dallas on Thursday, November 22. It is scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM. ET. Are you ready for some ball and turkey?
Other games on the NFL Thanksgiving schedule include:
Chicago Bears (-3.5) at Detroit Lions (+3.5): 12:30 PM EST
Washington Redskins (+7) at Dallas Cowboys (-7): 4:30 PM EST
Atlanta Falcons (13.5) at New Orleans Saints (-13.5): 8:20 PM EST
Washington Redskins Odds:
The Redskins were one of the feel-good stories earlier in the season. This is because nobody expected them to lead the NFC East. Since their hot start, they have been hit with a slew of injuries. Also, things went from bad to worse in their last game. This, after they lost quarterback Alex Smith to a gruesome injury.
Rather, with Smith out for the season, the Redskins will turn to Colt McCoy. Washington will try to fight for a playoff spot. On Monday, the team signed Mark Sanchez to back up McCoy. However, fans that have seen Sanchez in action are hoping McCoy stays healthy.
The Redskins also have a banged-up offensive line, which has hurt their pass protection and running game. They have still played well defensively and they will be counting on their defense to help them beat the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day.
Dallas Cowboys Odds:
The Cowboys are brimming with confidence at the moment after beating the Philadelphia Eagles a week ago and the Atlanta Falcons in their last game.
NFL Week 12 Betting
With the fans calling for his head, head coach Jason Garrett has gone back to what has worked well for the team in the past, running the ball. Ezekiel Elliott has been a beast over the last two weeks, rushing for 151 yards against the Eagles and 122 yards with 79 receiving yards against the Falcons.
Expect to see Elliott get a lot of touches against the struggling Redskins as the team tries to take the division lead. With Elliott playing well, Dak Prescott isn’t under pressure to make big plays anymore and can settle for the safe throws he makes well.
The Cowboys do have some significant injuries on defense with Sean Lee, Taco Charlton and David Irving missing their last game.
The Cowboys are favored to win this game by 7.5 points. The over/under on total points scored is 41.
The Cowboys are playing well, but they have a tendency to choke in games they are expected to win. Colt McCoy has also had some success against Dallas in the past, so take the Redskins +7.5.
NFL Week 11 is here! Dez Bryan is out. Brandon Marshall is in. The New Orleans Saints have been trying to add some depth to their wide receiver position. This is as they push for the top seed in the NFC playoff race. On Monday, the team announced they have reached an agreement with six-time Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall. Marshall was released by the Seattle Seahawks earlier this season.
Brandon had worked out for the Saints last week. However, the team decided to sign former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, who had been unsigned since he was released by the Cowboys during the offseason.
Bryant never got to play a down for the Saints as he suffered a torn Achilles during practice and won’t be able to play again for some time.
The Saints will be the 34-year-old Marshall’s fourth team in two years and the seventh team he has played for in his 13-year career. In seven games with the Seahawks, Marshall caught 11 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown. Last year, he had 18 catches for 154 yards in five games with the New York Giants.
Saints Betting Odds
The Saints aren’t expecting Marshall to have a big impact on their offense, but having him gives them a receiver they can play in the slot and a big target for Drew Brees in the red zone, which was the role they were expecting Bryant to play before he suffered his injury.
New Orleans hasn’t had a lot of luck with receivers this season with Ted Ginn Jr. Cameron Meredith, and Bryant being put on the injured reserve list over the past month. They are hoping their luck will change with Marshall and they will be able to get some production out of him.
Despite their lack of depth at the receiver position, their offense just keeps humming along. The Saints scored 51 points on the road against the Bengals, a week after scoring 45 points against the Los Angeles Rams.
The NFC North lead will be on the line when the Minnesota Vikings take on the Chicago Bears in this week’s edition of Sunday Night Football. The game will be played at Soldier Field on Sunday, November 18. It is scheduled to begin at 8:20 PM. ET. Vikings at Bears NFL Week 11 next!
Minnesota Vikings Analysis:
The Vikings came into the season expected to dominate the division. This is because they signed Kirk Cousins to lead a team loaded with talent on both sides. However, they struggled at the beginning of the season. Vikings won only one of their first four games. This did not make the fans happy.
Since then, the Vikings have won four of their last five games and will be trying to take the division lead when they face the Bears.
The Vikings struggled defensively at the start of the season. However, they have played better lately. They are holding opponents to 22.7 points per game. This is 11th in the league. Their offense also struggled early on. This was because their running game was inconsistent. However, they have also picked things up and are looking like a team that will be a factor once the playoffs start.
Chicago Bears Analysis:
Not too many people expected the Bears to lead the NFC North this late in the season, but they have worked their way to the top thanks to one of the best defenses in the league.
NFL Week 11
The Bears are giving up 19.4 points per game, which is fourth in the league. Their defense is led by former Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack. Mack was traded to Chicago before the start of the season. Mack has made an immediate impact on the defense and will be counted on to lead them to a win over the Vikings.
Chicago’s offense has also played well this season thanks to second-year quarterback Mitch Trubisky, who has improved drastically since his rookie season. The team will need Trubisky and the offense to put up some early points so their defense has some room to work with as they go after Cousins and the Vikings.
The Bears are favored to win this game by three points. The over/under on total points scored is 45.5.
This is going to be a close contest. This will come down to which team takes better care of the ball. With the Bears having only one win against a team with a winning record, take the Vikings +3 in this game. Which team do you pick?
The Los Angeles Rams will be trying to bounce back from their first loss of the season in Week 10. The Rams face the Seattle Seahawks in an NFC West clash this week. The game will be played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, November 11. It is scheduled to start at 4:25 PM. ET. Today we preview NFL Week 10 predictions.
The Seahawks are also going to be trying to rebound from their loss to the Los Angeles Chargers when they face the Rams. The team is currently 4-4 and likely won’t be able to challenge the Rams for the division title but they are still in the hunt for a Wildcard spot.
Despite losing some of their best defensive players, the Seahawks are still one of the best defensive teams in the league, giving up 19.5 points per game.
Their offense, led by Russell Wilson, is averaging 23.5 points per game, which is 17th in the league.
The last time the Seahawks faced the Rams, they almost pulled off the win but lost the game 33-31. They will go into this game with a lot of confidence because they almost defeated them the last time and the Rams are coming off their first loss of the year.
If the Seahawks can throw the ball effectively, and play better defense than they did in the first meeting, the Seahawks will have a chance to win this game.
NFL Week 10 Predictions
The Rams looked like the best team in the league for the first eight games, but their loss to the New Orleans Saints created some doubt, and they will try to re-establish themselves as the team to beat with a win over the Seahawks.
With the Kansas City Chiefs coming into town the next week, the Rams can’t afford to lose another game if they don’t want to fall behind the Saints in the NFC standings.
Todd Gurley continues to make his case for the league MVP, rushing for 868 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also has 362 receiving yards and four touchdowns for the Rams this season.
Gurley didn’t get as many touches against the Saints because the team fell behind early in the game. The Seahawks kept him in check in their last game, holding him to 77 rushing yards. Expect a big game from him this time around.
Los Angeles also needs to do a better job on the defensive end after allowing 72 points in their last two games. If they can keep the Seahawks from throwing the ball effectively, they will get the win.
The Rams are favored to win this game by 10 points. The over/under on total points scored is 51.5. The Rams will be trying to make a statement after their loss to the Saints so take them at -10. Since the teams combined for 64 points the last time they played, expect another high scoring game.
Ready for some Saints Bengals Week 10 betting? The New Orleans Saints will be going for their eighth consecutive win. The Saints take on the Cincinnati Bengals, who are trying to catch up to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North. Also, the game will be played at Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday, November 11. It is scheduled to begin at 1 PM. ET. Stay tuned for complete NFL Week 10 picks.
The Saints won the NFC South last season. However, they weren’t expected to be as good this year because the teams in their division got better. After losing their first game of the season, the Saints have reeled off seven consecutive wins and now have the best record in the NFC. Does this surprise you?
Drew Brees continues to make the case for his first regular season MVP award. Brees leads the second-best offense in the league. He looked great in the team’s last game, helping the Saints hand the Los Angeles Rams their first loss of the season. The team’s running game has also picked up since a slow start to the season.
Brees has completed 76.3 percent of his passes for 2,336 yards, 18 touchdowns, and one interception, while Alvin Kamara has 490 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. Kamara also has 427 receiving yards and three touchdowns for the Saints.
Defense has been the biggest issue for New Orleans. If they can shut down Andy Dalton, they should be able to get the win.
The Bengals are coming off a bye week and would love to get a win over the Saints so they can reduce their deficit in the AFC North. However, it is easier said than done against an offense that has been nearly unstoppable this year.
NFL Week 10 Picks
The Bengals offense will have to make up for the absence of wide receiver A.J. Green, who is expected to miss this game after suffering a toe injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their last game. Without his favorite target, Andy Dalton might struggle in this game.
Dalton has completed 63.4 percent of his passes for 2,102 yards, 17 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Joe Mixon, who is coming off his best game of the season, has 509 rushing yards and four touchdowns so far.
With the Saints coming into town, their defense, which gave up 576 yards to the Buccaneers in their last game, can’t afford to make the same mistake against the Saints, who will make them pay for it.
The Saints are favored to win this game by 4.5 points. The over/under on total points scored is 54.5 points.
With Green missing the game and the Bengals defense struggling, the Saints -4.5 is the best bet. You should also take the over in this game because New Orleans will also give up some points.
In conclusion, use these NFL week 10 picks for your NFL predictions.
The Los Angeles Rams will be trying to stay undefeated in Week 9. They take on the New Orleans Saints in the biggest game of the week. The game will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday, November 4. Also, it is scheduled to start at 4:25 PM. Rams Vs Saints Week 9 NFL predictions coming up!
The Los Angeles Rams have taken on all comers this season. Also, they remain the only undefeated team in the league. Their undefeated record will be in jeopardy this week against a Saints team that has been very impressive this season.
The Rams are coming off an impressive win over the Green Bay Packers and still have games against the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs on their schedule, making this their toughest stretch of the season.
Against the Saints, expect to see a lot of pressure on the quarterback as they try to force Brees to makes mistakes, which is something he hasn’t done a lot of this season. New Orleans’ running game has also looked better in recent weeks, making the team harder to stop.
Offensively, expect to see a lot of Todd Gurley as the Rams try to keep the Saints’ defense off balance. If they run the ball effectively, Jared Goff will have plenty of time to find open receivers.
Week 9 NFL Predictions
The Saints bounced back from their season-opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by winning their last six games and are tied for the second-best record in the league.
With this being a potential NFC Championship Game preview, home field advantage is at stake and a win by the Saints will give them the tiebreaker if they finish with the same record.
Drew Brees has been great this season and continues his assault on the record books. Fortunately for the Saints and their fans, Brees doesn’t have to do everything himself this season because they have a more complete team than they have had in the past.
Alvin Kamara will present matchup problems for the Rams who have been inconsistent defensively this season and struggled against the run in their game against the Packers.
If the Saints run the ball well, they should be able to get the win over the Rams on Sunday.
Pick and Predictions
The Saints are favored to win this game by 1 point. The over/under on total points scored is 60.
The Saints have been playing very well, but most of those wins have come against bad teams. They will struggle against the run and will lose a close game to the Rams.
In conclusion, for Rams Vs Saints take Los Angeles +1.
On Monday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will start this week’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Also, this didn’t come as a surprise. This is so because of how well he played in limited action in their loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. After taking over for Jameis Winston. Winston was benched after throwing his fourth interception of the game.
Since Winston took over the starting job from Fitzpatrick after serving a three-game suspension at the start of the season, the Buccaneers have gone 1-2. Buccaneers fans saw this coming.
In his three starts, Winston completed 64.9 percent of his passes for 1,181 yards, six touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He also has four fumbles so far.
Fitzpatrick, who is 2-2 as the starter, has completed 68.1 percent of his passes for 1,550 yards, 13 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also has two lost fumbles this season.
Ryan Fitzpatrick Stats
After Winston’s fourth interception was returned for a touchdown, the Buccaneers were down 34-16 late in the third quarter. Fitzpatrick came in and led a rally that helped the team tie the game. Unfortunately, their defense allowed the Bengals to move into their territory and kick the game-winning field goal.
Fitzpatrick finished the game completing 11 of 15 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns. If he plays well against the Panthers, it will solidify his position as the starter for the rest of the season and give the Buccaneers a tough choice to make in the offseason.
Winston has been turnover prone his whole career, something the Buccaneers were hoping would change since they drafted him.
Since he was drafted in 2015, Winston has thrown multiple interceptions 16 times, breaking a tie with Jacksonville’s Blake Bortles. If you throw in his off-field incidents and the fact that he has been outplayed by a 35-year-old journeyman quarterback, the team will have to decide if they will stick with him for one more season or cut bait and look for their franchise quarterback in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Reid and Jenkins exchange words again. Before their game against the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday. Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid confronted Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins and had to be restrained by his teammates. This was before things got physical.
After the game, Reid answered questions about the altercation and called Jenkins a “sellout.”
Reid told reporters that Jenkins “capitalized on the situation.” Reid, the first player to join former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in kneeling when both played for the 49ers. “He co-opted with the movement that was started by Colin to get his organization started. It was cowardly. He sold us out.”
Reid was referring to last season when Jenkins. Who co-founded the Players Coalition, stopped kneeling during the national anthem after the NFL announced it would donate $100 million to causes considered important to the coalition.
Several players, including Reid, withdrew from the coalition in November 2017. Among Reid’s concerns was where the funds for the initiative came from. What does this mean for the coalition?
NFL Player News
“In the discussion that we had, Malcolm conveyed to us. Based on discussions that he had with the NFL. That the money would come from funds that are already allocated to breast cancer awareness and Salute to Service,” Reid said at the time. “So it would really be no skin off the owners’ backs: They would just move the money from those programs to this one.”
Despite the comments made by Reid, Jenkins refused to get into a war of words with him. This was a classy move.
“I would never get up here and say anything bad about somebody who I know whose intentions were real about helping the community. Especially another black man,” he said. “So I’m going to leave it at that.
In conclusion, “I respect him, I’m glad he has a job, I’m glad he’s back in the league, and I’ll leave it like that.”
The Los Angeles Rams will be going for their eighth consecutive win in week 8. They take on the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are trying to win their third game in their last four contest. The game will be played at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, October 28. Also, it is scheduled to begin at 4:25 PM. Packers at Rams NFL week 8 betting odds next.
The Packers are coming off their bye week. They will be hoping the week off helps the team get healthy as they go up against one of the best teams in the league this year.
Aaron Rodgers continues to play at a high level. This is despite a knee injury that has bothered him since their season-opening win over the Chicago Bears. However, the team hasn’t put enough talent around their quarterback, which is why they have struggled this season.
Despite their record, the Packers are only one game behind the Minnesota Vikings and they still have a good chance of winning their division.
With a trip to New England to take on Tom Brady and the Patriots coming up after this game, the Packers can’t afford to lose to the Rams on Sunday.
Green Bay’s defense, which is giving up 24 points per game, will need to step up to help the team get the win against a Rams team that is averaging 33.6 points per game. If they can Keep Los Angeles’ offense in check, they will have a good chance to win this game.
NFL Week 8 Betting Odds
The Rams have lived up to the hype after their busy offseason, and remain the only undefeated team in the league.
They have dominated on both sides of the ball, and their defense turned in its most dominant performance against the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday, registering seven sacks and forcing four turnovers.
The Rams are coming off a three-game road trip and will get to play one game at home before hitting the road to take on the New Orleans Saints next week. Expect to see the team put on a show for their fans against an overmatched Packers team.
With the Packers struggling to run the ball, the Rams will come after Rodgers like they did to the 49ers and try to force him into making mistakes. The Packers struggle on the road and will likely struggle again facing the best team they have played all year.
The Rams are favored to win this game by 8.5 points. The over/under on total points scored is 56.5.
The week off gave the Packers some extra time to prepare for the Rams. Unfortunately, they don’t have enough talent to compete with the Rams and will take another road loss on Sunday. Take the Rams -8.5.
Welcome to NFL Week 7 betting picks! The Houston Texans will be trying to take sole possession of the AFC South lead. This is when they play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon. The game will be played at TIAA Bank Field. Also, it is scheduled to begin at 1 PM. ET. Texans Vs Jaguars NFL week 7 betting picks below.
The Texans have won three consecutive games. Houston will try to make it four in a row when they face the Jaguars. The Jags have won the last two meetings between the two teams.
Deshaun Watson has played well for the Texans. Also, is one of the biggest reasons they have won three games, but he has also taken a lot of hits behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league, and he has also turned the ball over 14 times.
The Texans will need their line to give Watson some extra time to get rid of the ball, but they will also need their quarterback to take better care of the ball, especially against an opportunistic defense like Jacksonville’s.
Houston’s running game hasn’t been as good as expected, but help is on the way with D’Onta Foreman coming off the PUP list this week after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury last season. Even though it will take Foreman some time to work himself back into shape, having extra depth at the position is great for the Texans.
Texans Vs Jaguars Wagering Odds
If their defense can keep Blake Bortles in check on Sunday, they should be able to get the win.
The Jaguars have lost two consecutive games and their defense, which was supposed to be one of the best in the league this year, gave up 70 points in their two losses. They will try to get back on track against the Texans, but they will need to play better on both sides of the ball to get the win.
Jacksonville’s offense has struggled over their last two games. They ended up scoring 21 points. With Leonard Fournette still dealing with an injury, T.J. Yeldon and the rest of their running back corps have to play better than they have in his absence.
Blake Bortles, who looked good early in the season, also has to play better than he has in the last two weeks and do a better job protecting the ball after throwing five interceptions in their last two games.
If the offense can get more than 21 points in this game, their defense should be able to slow down Houston’s offense and get some turnovers to help them get the win.
The Jaguars are favored to win this game by 4.5 points. The over/under on total points scored is 42.5.
Also, the Jaguars will play better than they have in the past two weeks because they will be playing in front of their home crowd, but if Fournette doesn’t play, they will have a hard time moving the ball against the Texans. Take Houston +4.5.
In conclusion, in Texans vs Jaguars we like Houston.
Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders wasn’t a happy camper after the Broncos lost to the Los Angeles Rams. Sanders feels like the referees cost his team a chance to win the game. This, thanks to a taunting call in the first quarter of their game. Does Emmanuel Sanders have a point?
According to Sanders, a first-quarter taunting call against him “cost my team,”. Then added it was also a sign the “league is getting soft.”
The penalty occurred late in the first quarter with the Rams holding a 6-0 lead. Case Keenum hit Sanders with what he thought was a 44-yard touchdown, and after Sanders got up from a tackle, he pointed a finger in Rams cornerback Troy Hill’s face, which drew the taunting flag.
Rather then, since the play occurred in the end zone, it was reviewed to confirm that it was a touchdown, and the replay officials said he was down at the one-yard line.
LA Rams News
Instead of the taunting penalty being assessed on the kickoff like it would if it was a touchdown. It was assessed at the one-yard line. This pushed the Broncos back to the Rams’ 16-yard line. They would eventually settle for a field goal after gaining only six yards on three downs.
“It was a great throw by Case. I came down with a big play, emotions are high. … It’s not like I walked up to him and head-butted him or something crazy. But it cost my team.”
Also, with the Broncos losing the game 23-20, the penalty and the four points the Broncos lost ended up being a bigger deal than they thought.
“There’re no moral victories. … Our guys played hard, that’s apparent, but we have to play a better brand of football as far as penalties,” Broncos coach Vance Joseph said. “… He knows better, yes he knows better, I didn’t see what happened. … that’s why he can’t do that. He knows that.”
In conclusion, the LA Rams don’t seem hurt by Emmanuel Sanders comments.
Looking for the latest Pittsburgh Steelers news? Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was expected to be happy about his team’s impressive win over the Atlanta Falcons, but the coach wasn’t in the mood to celebrate after the game, due to what he felt were questionable penalties called against his team.
When asked about the two facemask penalties called on linebacker Bud Dupree, Tomlin said the calls looked legitimate but pointed out that a lot of the other penalties called during the game were questionable.
“But some of the other stuff, man, is a joke,” Tomlin said. “We gotta get better as a National Football League. Man, these penalties are costing people games and jobs. We gotta get ’em correct. And so I’m pissed about it, to be quite honest with you. But that’s all I’m gonna say on it.”
One of the questionable calls Tomlin was referring to was a roughing the passer penalty against linebacker T.J. Watt, who had three sacks in the game. Watt was flagged after a low hit on Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, but replay showed he tried to move off the quarterback as he approached him.
Pittsburgh Steelers News
After the game, Watt told reporters he was surprised by the call.
“I understand the rules. I’m not a dirty player,” Watt said. “I tried to pull off him at the end. Whether the ref saw it or not, I understand why they call it. It was a low hit. But I tried to pull my arms off. We’ll see if I get a check in the mail or not. … It puts us in a bind because I don’t know what else I can do. I couldn’t have rolled off, then I risk hitting someone in the knees or hurting myself.”
Despite the penalty, Watt said he doesn’t plan on changing the way he plays the game, adding that he just has to play smarter.
“You just have to be smart and understand the rules,” Watt said. “I’m not a guy who’s going to make any real change from what I say. So I have to understand the rules and play by them.”
Looking for Chiefs Patriots Week 6 odds? The biggest game of week 6 of the NFL season is the Sunday Night Football matchup. Between the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots. The game will be played at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, October 14. Also, it is scheduled to begin at 8:20 PM. ET.
Kansas City Chiefs Analysis:
The Chiefs are off to another fast start to their season. However, things feel different this season thanks to the performance of second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes has been sensational so far.
Mahomes has completed 63 percent of his passes. These were for 1,513 yards, 14 touchdowns, and two interceptions. The picks came in their last game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Chiefs have also run the ball consistently. Averaging 115.6 rushing yards per game, which is 12th in the league.
With the offense averaging a league-leading 35 points per game, the Patriots will need to be great to slow the Chiefs offense down. Do you agree?
Kareem Hunt picked up where he left off last season and leads the team with 376 rushing yards and four touchdowns, which is fourth in the league. In his first NFL game, Hunt terrorized the Patriots defense.
After fumbling on his first carry of the game, Hunt bounced back and finished with 148 rushing yards and one touchdown, and also had 98 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The Chiefs might be real.
With the Patriots struggling against the run, expect to see plenty of Hunt on Sunday night.
NFL Week 6 Betting Odds
New England Patriots Analysis:
Due to his unprecedented success as a head coach, Bill Belichick is hardly second-guessed, but after the team’s 3-2 start, he deserves some blame for some of his offseason moves.
The Patriots traded wide receiver Brandin Cooks, whom they acquired last offseason and led all receivers in yards and touchdowns, to the Los Angeles Rams. They lost Danny Amendola to the Miami Dolphins and started the season without any real depth at the receiver position, which is one of the reasons Tom Brady struggled at the start of the year.
In his first game back after serving a four-game suspension, Julian Edelman gave Brady a reliable target and not surprisingly, the quarterback had his biggest passing game of the year, completing 77 percent of his passes for 341 yards.
With the Chiefs and their high-scoring offense coming into town, Brady will have to keep up with Kansas City’s offense because New England’s defense hasn’t been very good this season. If they are unable to score consistently, they will have a hard time winning this game.
The Patriots are favored to win this game by 3.5 points. The over/under on total points scored is 59.
The Patriots don’t have the firepower to keep up with the Chiefs, who are trying to prove they are legitimate. Their defense might slow Kansas City down a little, but it won’t be enough to prevent the Chiefs from winning this game. Take the Chiefs +3.5 and the over in this one.
Bad news for Thomas and the Hawks. Seattle Seahawks safety, Earl Thomas, who held out during training camp in hopes of getting a better deal or getting traded, saw his season and most likely his career with the Seahawks come to an end. This, after suffering an injury. The injury forced him out of the team’s road win over the Arizona Cardinals.
After the game, head coach Pete Carroll said Thomas suffered a lower leg fracture. Coach added that the injury will force Thomas to miss the remainder of the season.
Carroll was also asked what he thought of Thomas’ decision to flip the Seahawks sideline the bird as he was getting carted off the field.
“I don’t know anything about that,” Carroll said when asked about the gesture. “It’s a big stadium. I don’t know where it was aimed at. Earl was extraordinarily poised on the field. For what just occurred to be so clear and so resolved to — he knew what happened. But he was so poised and giving back to the players and all of us. So I don’t know what happened after that.” Was Earl Thomas wrong?
Seattle Seahawks News Week 5
Thomas wasn’t available to speak with the media after the game, but his teammates hope he will be able to return to his dominant form when his leg heals.
After the game, Bradley McDougald said seeing Thomas carted off the field was “very difficult” and a “very emotional moment.”
“We personally know the time these players put into it,” he said, referring to Thomas and Dissly, “and to see their seasons get ended short like that, it’s just heartbreak because I know how bad they wanted it. So I think it’s our job to go out there and finish the job that they started.”
With Earl Thomas eligible to become a free agent after this season, Sunday’s game was likely his final game in a Seahawks uniform.
The Minnesota Vikings will be trying to snap a two-game losing streak. When they face the Philadelphia Eagles in what had been one of the most anticipated matchups of the season. The game will be played on Sunday, October 7 at Lincoln Financial Field. It is scheduled to start at 4:25 PM. ET. Enjoy betting on the Eagles in Week 5.
The Vikings were expected to contend for the Super Bowl this season. This is after signing Kirk Cousins in the offseason. However, things haven’t gone as planned for the Vikings. Minnesota hasn’t won a game since their season-opener against the San Francisco 49ers.
Minnesota’s defense, which was the team’s strength last season. They have not played as well as they did at this point last year, giving up 58 points in their last two games. For his part, Cousins has put up the big numbers that were expected of him, but his supporting cast hasn’t gotten there yet.
Cousins has completed 69 percent of his passes for 1,387 yards, 10 touchdowns, and two interceptions. Unfortunately, the team’s running game hasn’t been as effective, forcing Cousins to throw more than he would like. You can bet on the Eagles at these top US betting sites for NFL.
Dalvin Cook, who leads the Vikings in rushing, has 98 rushing yards on 36 carries. He also has nine catches for 107 yards, but he hasn’t scored a touchdown yet. The team will need to get their ground game going if they want to beat the Eagles.
Like the Vikings, the Eagles have underachieved this season. The defending Super Bowl champions already have two losses after four games thanks to their 26-23 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans.
Betting on the Eagles
The good news for the Eagles is that their offense has looked better since Carson Wentz returned to the lineup last week. Despite missing the first two games of the week, Wentz leads the team with 603 passing yards.
Alshon Jeffery’s return to the lineup on Sunday also provided the offense with a spark, and he finished the game with 105 yards and one touchdown on eight catches. The Eagles also ran the ball well, and Jay Ajayi, who is dealing with a back injury, led the way with 70 yards on 15 carries.
With the Vikings coming into town, Philadelphia’s defense will need to play better against the pass than they have done in the last three weeks and apply pressure on Cousins, forcing him into making mistakes.
The Eagles are favored to win this game by three points. The over/under on total points scored is 44.5.
The Vikings have shown that they can score, but their defense has been inconsistent this season, while Philadelphia’s offense continues to get better, making the Eagles the smart bet here. Take Philadelphia -3.
In conclusion, betting on the Eagles in NFL Week 5 is a sure bet.
Looking for Browns Raiders Week 4 betting odds? They have slightly changed with Baker Mayfield making his start.
Now that they have gotten their first win since 2015 out of the way. The Cleveland Browns will try to win their second consecutive game when they take on the Oakland Raiders. THe Raiders are still in search of their first win under the new Jon Gruden era. The game will be played on Sunday, September 30 at the Oakland Coliseum. It is scheduled to begin at 4:05 PM. ET.
Cleveland’s offense looked terrible in two of their first three games. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor looked out of synch against the Pittsburgh Steelers in their first game and in the first half of last week’s game against the New York Jets.
An injury to Taylor forced the Browns to turn to rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield. Mayfield was selected with the number one pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Mayfield immediately made an impact on offense and moved the ball around like a seasoned pro.
The Browns managed to fight their way back in the game and got their first win of the year. This is thanks to their rookie quarterback. Baker completed 17 of 23 passes for 201 yards. The team will be hoping Mayfield has another great game and leads them to a win over the Raiders.
Also, Cleveland’s defense also deserves credit for their win last week. This is so because they have played very well in the first three games. They will likely apply a lot of pressure on Derek Carr and try to force him into turning the ball over.
Baker Mayfield Starting Quarterback
The Raiders blew a great chance to get their first win of the season when they faced the Miami Dolphins in their last game. The Raiders had a 17 to 14 lead at the end of the third quarter but they were unable to close out the Dolphins, who outscored the Raiders 14-3 in the fourth quarter. Now, they will have to put the loss behind them and focus on getting a win over the Browns.
Therefore, Derek Carr completed 27 of 39 passes for 345 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, bringing his regular season totals to two touchdowns and five interceptions.
Carr’s disappointing play this season is surprising because Gruden is supposed to be a great quarterbacks coach, but Carr seems to be regressing.
The Raiders need to have more balance in their offense. The team can run the ball more than they have to keep defenses on their heels. Their defense also has to do a better job defending the pass after giving up 332 yards and four touchdowns to the Dolphins.
The Raiders are favored to win this game by three points. The over/under on total points scored 45.
Also, the Raiders have struggled offensively this season and their defense hasn’t been able to get crucial stops when needed. With Cleveland’s strong defense and a confident rookie quarterback, the Browns should be able to cover the spread in this game.
In conclusion, Browns Raiders Week 4 betting take the Raiders.
Things went from bad to worse for Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers. After leading the San Francisco 49ers to a 5-0 record at the end of last season, there was plenty of hope in the Bay Area with some fans even thinking about a Super Bowl run. Three games into the season, the 49ers have a better chance of getting the number one overall pick in next year’s draft than making the playoffs after Garoppolo went down with an injury late in their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters after the game that the team feared Garoppolo injured his ACL and he is expected to miss the rest of the season. The coach added that the team will know more after Garoppolo undergoes more tests on Monday.
“Anytime you lose your starting quarterback, that is a big deal,” Shanahan said. “It was when we lost our starting running back [Jerick McKinnon] too. So obviously, I feel for him personally. I know how disappointed he is. I haven’t got a chance to see him yet. I feel for him.”
San Francisco 49ers News
Jimmy Garoppolo injured his knee on a scramble while attempting to pick up a first down. The quarterback scrambled 13 yards and had the option of stepping out of bounds, but he stayed in bounds and took a hit from Chiefs cornerback Steven Nelson.
“That was, I think, that was his fault,” Houston said. “I pray he’s not hurt and it’s nothing serious, but as a quarterback, you should step out of bounds. It’s only an inch. An inch [gained] wouldn’t have made a difference. You got the yardage you need, you step out of bounds. You’ve got to be smart, think about your team.”
With Jimmy Garoppolo out, the San Francisco 49ers will turn to C.J. Beathard, who led the team to their first win of the 2017 season as a rookie.
“I have got a lot of confidence in C.J.,” Shanahan said. “He came in today, made a helluva throw on that fourth down. No hesitation. C.J. is a gamer. Everyone in here has a ton of respect for C.J., how he handles himself. He’s a man out there, and he’s a very good quarterback, and we’re fortunate to have him.”
In conclusion, the San Franscisco 49ers will miss the playoffs.
Jon Gruden’s decisions come into question again. The Denver Broncos won their first meeting against their AFC West rivals the Oakland Raiders. Thanks to a last minute field goal by Brandon McManus. This was with six seconds remaining in the game. Even though the win was a big one for the Broncos because it put them in a first-place tie with the Kansas City Chiefs. The win was bigger for punter Marquette King. King was released by the Raiders during the offseason. This story and Denver Broncos betting odds coming up next.
After the game, King posted a video on Twitter. The video showed a Chucky doll with money stuffed in his clothes. A reference to the $100 million contract Gruden signed with the Raiders. Another questionable Oakland Raiders move by Gruden.
The video posted by King wasn’t really a surprise. This is considering the way things ended with the franchise. Marquette King was an undrafted free agent in 2012 that managed to secure a spot on the team. This was thanks to his deep, accurate punts. By 2016, he had become one of the best punters in the league. King was rewarded with a five-year $16 million deal.
Denver Broncos Betting Odds
After Gruden agreed to return to the Raiders, there were rumors that King’s personality and active social media presence wouldn’t mesh with Gruden’s old school approach.
On March 30th, the Raiders announced they had released King. Then, King went on to sign a three-year $7 million deal with the Broncos.
At the time of his signing with the Broncos, King said he had not spoken with Gruden. This was before or after he was released by the Raiders. “I never got a chance to talk to him. Just saw him on car commercials and stuff. [Now] I get to see him two times a year.”
King added that he was never told the reason he was released by the Broncos front office. However, we think it is pretty obvious. What do you think?
During Denver’s win over Oakland. King punted four times and finished with a 44.1 net yards average. He also had one punt inside the Raiders’ 20-yard line.
The Raiders and Broncos will face each other in Oakland on Christmas Eve. What a Christmas treat this will be!
In conclusion, Marquette King continues to make noise. Also, Denver Broncos betting odds are not impacted in the least.
The New York Jets will be going for their second road win of the season. They take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 3. The Browns are still in search of their first win of the year. The game will be played at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland on Thursday, September 20. It is scheduled to begin at 8:20 PM. ET. Read more on Jets Vs Browns NFL Week 3 betting picks.
New York Jets Analysis: The Jets looked very impressive in their first game of the season. This is thanks to a great defensive effort. The effort resulted in the Jets forcing six turnovers when they faced the Detroit Lions. Rookie quarterback Sam Darnold also looked impressive as the Jets ran away with an easy win.
In their second game, the defense played well again and forced two turnovers against Miami Dolphins, but the Jets offense struggled against Miami’s defense, leading to their first loss of the season.
Sam Darnold finished the game completing 25 of 41 passes for 334 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. However, the Jets didn’t do a good job running the ball, finishing with 42 yards on 19 carries.
With a short week to get ready for their next game, the Jets will have to do a better job running the ball because Cleveland’s defense will come after Darnold and try to force him into making mistakes.
Cleveland Browns Analysis: The Browns could easily be 2-0 right now, but their special teams, particularly their kicker blew opportunities to seal their first win against the Pittsburgh Steelers and did the same thing against the New Orleans Saints in their last game, missing two field goals, including the game-winning field goal and two extra point conversions.
NFL Week 3 Betting Picks
On Monday, the Browns announced they were inviting kickers to try out for them this week, in hopes of finding a more reliable kicker.
Cleveland’s defense has been impressive in their first two games. They forced six turnovers in their first game against the Steelers and held the Saints offense to 21 points. Fans are hoping their great defensive play continues when they face the Jets on Thursday.
Tyrod Taylor bounced back from his disappointing first game of the season and finished Sunday’s game completing 22 of 30 passes for 248 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. If he plays as well against the Jets, the Browns should be able to get their first win since the 2015 season.
NFL Picks and Predictiosn: The Browns are favored to win the game by 3 points. The over/under on total points scored is 39.
This is going to be a defensive game. With Cleveland’s defense looking like the real deal and their offense starting to come around, Cleveland is most likely to win this game so take them -3 and the under in this game.
What do you think about Bryant? Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant had a little fun at his former team’s expense. On Sunday while they were losing to the Carolina Panthers.
During the game, Dez Bryant, who was cut by the Cowboys during the offseason and remains unsigned. Dez called out the Cowboys and offensive coaches. He also added that it would be the last time he talks about the Cowboys.
“After today I’m done talking about the cowboys. If I try to say something good or a factual it always turned out to be negative. Plus I don’t want it to seem that’s where I’m focused I know the team well so it’s hard not for me to speak,” Bryant said. “All I ever cared about was winning.”
Bryant also made a comment about the Cowboys play calling, which he called garbage and predictable.
Dallas Cowboys News
“It’s kind of cool calling out all of the signals and knowing which route players are about run.”
During the offseason, Bryant was rejected an offer from the Baltimore Ravens, who were trying to lock him up on a two-year deal because he wanted to sign a one year deal to show he is still a very good player and cash in as a free agent next year.
He also visited with the Cleveland Browns, but they were unable to reach an agreement on a deal. During his Twitter rant on Sunday, Bryant was asked by a fan to call Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and resign with the team, but the receiver said he needs to play for a team where his talent can be showcased, and mentioned the New England Patriots and Washington Redskins.
“Naw I’m ok. I rather go somewhere I can show case my skills for real. if I line up next to Gronk Hogan Edelman I’m for sure getting a 1 on 1 match up plus I won’t be getting criticized controlled for expressing my love for the game. Washington is cool as well.”
The Minnesota Vikings will renew their rivalry with the Green Bay Packers when they visit their NFC North rivals this week. The game will be played on Sunday, September 16 at Lambeau Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 PM. ET. What do you think about Vikings Packers?
Minnesota Vikings Analysis
The Vikings survived a scare against the San Francisco 49ers in their season opener. However, they were able to walk away with the win thanks to a solid defensive effort in the final minutes of the game.
Newly acquired quarterback Kirk Cousins showed why the team invested so much money in him. Also, finished the game completing 20 of 36 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns. The Vikings also ran for 116 yards on 32 carries.
Minnesota’s defense picked up where they left off last season, picking off 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo three times, with the final interception clinching the game for the Vikings. If they play as well as they did on Sunday, they will make things difficult for Aaron Rodgers, who needed a last minute miracle to get past the Chicago Bears on Sunday night.
Green Bay Packers Analysis
The Green Bay Packers missed the playoffs last season. This is so because Aaron Rodgers missed most of the season with a shoulder injury. This year, they are hoping to retake the NFC North crown. However, their hopes were nearly dashed when Rodgers left the game against the Bears on a cart after suffering a knee injury.
NFL Week 2 Betting Odds
Rodgers was able to return to the game. He lead the Packers to a 24-23 win over the Bears. Aaron will need his offensive line to do a better job protecting him when he faces the Vikings for the first time since he was injured by Anthony Barr last year.
Rodgers finished the game against Chicago completing 20 of 30 passes. This was for 286 yards and three touchdowns. The Packers struggled to run the ball against the Bears. The team finished with 69 yards on 18 carries.
To get the win over the Vikings, the Packers need to have a balanced attack to keep Minnesota’s defense honest and to protect Rodgers from their pass rush. If they can run the ball successfully, the Packers will have a chance to win this game.
Pick and Prediction
The Packers are favored to win this game by 1 point. The over/under on total points scored is not yet available.
The Packers should have blown out the Bears. Chicago is limited offensively. However, they fell behind quickly to their overmatched opponents. The Vikings are better than the Packers defensively and they will hound Rodgers for most of the game, forcing him into making mistakes. Take the Vikings +1 in this game.
The Oakland Raiders dropped a bombshell on the NFL on Saturday when they agreed to trade defensive end Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears, less than a week before the start of the 2018 season. What does this mean for the Oakland Raiders? What does this mean for Khalil Mack?
According to reports, the Bears agreed to give up their first round picks in 2019 and 2020 as well as a third-round pick in 2020 and a sixth-round pick in 2019 to the Raiders in exchange for Mack. The Raiders will also include their second-round pick in 2020 and a conditional fifth-round pick in 2020 in the trade. You can bet on tha Raiders at these top NFL betting sites for 2019.
The Bears didn’t waste any time locking up the 2016 NFL Defensive Player of the Year to a long-term deal. The team announced they had agreed to a six-year, $141 million extension with Khalil Mack, making him the highest paid defensive player in league history.
Oakland Raiders News
“We are excited to add a special playmaker like Khalil to our football team,” Bears general manager Ryan Pace said. “He brings a ton on the field, but he really fits what we are building in our locker room too. Elite defensive players in their prime are rare so when we knew we had a legit shot to acquire him, we did everything we thought necessary to get him. I’m confident the compensation to Oakland, including the return draft picks to us, and the contract extension for Khalil are fair to all parties. We are anxious to get Khalil to Chicago with his coaches and teammates.”
After the trade was announced, Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said the team decided to trade Mack because they couldn’t come to terms on a long-term deal.
“We wanted, all of us — Gruden, myself, everybody in the organization — wanted Khalil to be a Raider. That’s not an issue at all. We presented him with an offer and we got that counter back and talked about it with him … and it just, what they were demanding, it just wasn’t going to work at that time … it didn’t work out in the end … we weren’t close. We presented prior to the start of the league year … Khalil Mack got a great deal,” he said.
Former NFL MVP Adrian Peterson will get to lace up his cleats for one more season. This is, after coming to terms on a deal with the Washington Redskins. Details of the contract haven’t been revealed, but it is reported to be a one-year deal.
The 33-year-old Peterson, who played for the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals last season. Peterson had been a free agent since March. When he was released by the Cardinals. The future Hall of Famer didn’t get much interest in free agency due to his age and diminishing skills.
The Redskins decided to bring Peterson in after losing starter Derrius Guice for the season with a torn ACL, then losing backups Samaje Perine and Byron Marshall in their win against the New York Jets last week.
With Peterson on the team, the Redskins have more depth at the running back position. Even though Peterson is the most experienced running back on the team, Rob Kelley and Chris Thompson are ahead of him on the depth chart, which means he won’t get a lot of playing time.
Washington Redskins News
When Perine and Marshall return from their injuries, Peterson will likely fall further down the depth chart.
In his first 10 seasons in the league, Peterson made the Pro Bowl seven times. Also, he won the league MVP award as a member of the Minnesota Vikings. He is currently in 12th place on the NFL’s all-time rushing list with 12,276 yards. He also has 2,015 receiving yards.
Peterson signed with the New Orleans Saints last offseason after the Vikings declined to pick up the team option on his contract, but he didn’t get a lot of playing time as the team’s third back, and w3as traded to the Cardinals after complaining about his playing time.
In conclusion, despite his diminishing skills, Adrian Peterson finished the 2017 season with 529 rushing yards and two touchdowns in 10 games.
The San Francisco 49ers continue to make moves. Most recently, they sign Alfred Morris. The 49ers had plenty of questions surrounding the running back position after the team allowed former second round pick Carlos Hyde leave in free agency.
The team was willing to let Hyde walk because he didn’t fit in head coach Kyle Shanahan’s zone scheme and wasn’t a good pass catcher. The 49ers found the type of running back they were looking for in former Minnesota Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon, who is expected to be their feature back this season.
With McKinnon and backup Matt Breida suffering injuries in the preseason, the 49ers decided to sign Alfred Morris to add depth and veteran leadership at the running back position.
Morris has some familiarity with Shanahan’s scheme, dating back to their days with the Washington Redskins when Shanahan was the offensive coordinator in 2012 and 2013. Morris flourished in Shanahan’s system and had his most productive seasons during that time, rushing for 1,613 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2012 and 1,275 yards and seven touchdowns in 2013.
San Francisco 49ers News
“Alf did a great job for us for the two years I was with him,” Shanahan said. “It’s not flashy but he runs extremely hard, he’s very reliable, he’s a hard-nosed runner you can keep handing the ball off to.”
Shanahan also said he considered bringing in the 29-year-old Morris, who spent the last two seasons as a backup with the Dallas Cowboys, earlier, but didn’t want to make the move un less he was sure Morris would make the 53-man roster. What does this mean for the San Francisco 49ers?
“I just told him I waited so long to invite him because I wouldn’t invite him unless I believed he had the chance to make the team,” Shanahan said. “I do believe he has a chance to make the team here. And that’s all Alf wants. He wants a chance to compete. Who knows, maybe the San Francisco 49ers will sign Terrell Owens next.
“I think with some of these injuries that we’ve had now, he does have a chance to compete. He’s getting in late, but we’ll see how he does over these next few weeks, and if he’s running the same way he always has, he’ll have a chance.”
In the latest Denver Broncos news we have controversy. On Sunday, Denver Broncos punter Marquette King, who signed with the team after being released by the Oakland Raiders in the offseason, had a few words for a radio host after the team’s practice.
King, who is one of the most active athletes on social media. He did several interviews with media outlets since arriving in Denver without any incidents. However, on Friday, King was a guest on a local radio show hosted by former Denver Broncos receiver Brandon Stokley, and was cut off in less than two minutes after giving short answers to the questions he was asked.
When asked why he wasn’t expanding on the answers he was giving, King said he didn’t like talking about football. Does that make sense?
Darren McKee, who also has a show on the station, with former Broncos defensive linemen Alfred Williams, took to Twitter saying King should apologize to Stokley.
Denver Broncos News
“Little advice. Go to Brandon Stokely – who played for the broncos two different times, played in the league for 15 years, is in the Louisiana sports hall of fame, is a fantastic father and husband and apologize for an incredibly disrespectful and rude interview,” McKee wrote.
“If you don’t want to be interviewed then simply don’t do it. If you DO decide to do an interview have a clue who you are talking to. Why don’t you ask DT about Stokely as you apparently have no idea who anybody is. Best of luck punting the ball in Denver. Somehow our show will survive without you.”
After practice, King confronted McKee asking “do we have a problem” and said “keep my name out of your mouth.” McKee responded “or what?”
After the exchange, King tweeted former teammate Marshawn Lynch to let him know he understands why the running back avoids doing interviews.
“It all makes sense now @MoneyLynch,” King wrote.
Should Marquette King say sorry? Do the Denver Broncos have bigger issues?
In recent CFL (Canadian Football League) news Terrell Owens is working out for a team. NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens was inducted into the Hall of Fame over the weekend. He isn’t about to let being enshrined with the greatest players to play in the NFL stop him from living out his dreams. You can read his Hall of Fame speech here.
A couple of days after his induction. Owens worked out for the Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The workout, which was attended by Roughriders head coach. Also, general manager Chris Jones was there. It was held at South Pittsburg High School. Therefore featured a handful of attendees, among them former UCF quarterback Justin Holman and former South Carolina defensive back Rico McWilliams.
“I know I’m truly blessed and I can still play the game.” TerrellOwens, 44, told the Chattanooga Times Free Press after the hour-plus workout. “What I did out there today is just a small little snippet of what I can do. I just appreciate Coach for the opportunity. I guess he wanted to assess and see where I am physically.” The Canadian Football League needs a celebrity.
Canadian Football League CFL
“It’s key when you’re trying out to put your best foot forward. I’m very pleased with what they saw and what I did out there. To be inducted into the Hall of Fame and come back and play, why not me? I know I can do it; it’s just a matter of someone giving me the opportunity.”
Jones, who like Terrell Owens, graduated the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, said he wanted to evaluate Owens’ route running and test his stamina.
“I have tryouts whenever it’s possible so that former college and pro athletes have the chance to prove themselves and see if they can improve our team,” Jones told the Chattanooga Times Free Press. “But I’ve never been faced with anything like this. I mean, he’s 44 years old but still runs a 4.4-second 40.
“An agent reached out to me to say that T.O. was interested in a tryout. I gave him the dates we would be available, and it just happened to work out that the timing was perfect for him since he was in Chattanooga for his ceremony. I told him it would be better to come here for the tryout because there wouldn’t be the media frenzy that would be created if he crossed the border to work out in Canada.”
In conclusion we ask can the Canadian Football League handle Owens?
NFL preseason betting kicks off with Panthers Bills betting odds. If your like Panthers Bills betting then read up. The first week of the 2018 NFL preseason kicks off with a matchup between the Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills. Buffalo will be trying to make the playoffs for the second consecutive season. The game will be played on Thursday, August 9 at the New Era Field in New York. It is scheduled to begin at 7 PM. ET.
Carolina Panther Analysis
The Panthers finished second in the NFC South last season. They made it back to the playoffs after missing out in 2016. A season after their 2015 Super Bowl run. This season, they will be going for the top seed in the division. In hopes of getting home field advantage in the playoffs. Which will be tough due to how good their divisional rivals will be this season.
The Panthers have a few new faces on the team this season, and are hoping they will have an immediate impact this year. Last season, Carolina’s secondary was one of their biggest concerns, and the team addressed the issue by bringing in cornerback Ross Cockrell and safety Da’Norris Searcy.
The Panthers also added depth to their offense by bringing in former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jarius Wright and guard Jeremiah Sirles. Some of the new faces will see some playing time on Thursday, while the others will sit the game out so coaches can evaluate the younger players.
Buffalo Bills Betting Odds
Bills hoping offseason turmoil doesn’t disrupt regular season. After making the playoffs for the first time since Doug Flutie was still hawking cereal, the Bills were hoping to make a deeper run this year, but those plans might be put on hold thanks to their offseason, which was quite brutal.
The Bills traded quarterback Tyrod Taylor to the Cleveland Browns, and will enter the season with former Cincinnati Bengals backup quarterback A.J. McCarron competing with rookie quarterback Josh Allen.
Running back LeSean McCoy is a person of interest in a robbery assault case involving his former girlfriend. Offensive lineman Richie Incognito, who has been their best lineman over the past two seasons, retired from the team and unretired a few weeks later.
With all the craziness surrounding the team, it will be interesting to see how they handle the pressure this season.
Odds: The Bills are favored to win by 2.5 points. The over/under on total points scored is 34.
NFL Betting Picks and Predictions
Both teams will rest their starters, but the Panthers have more depth on their team and will be able to cover. Take Carolina +2.5. That’s all of it for Panthers Bills betting odds. Check back here for more Bills betting odds.
Dez Bryant no longer plays for the Dallas Cowboys. However, that is not stopping him from talking about them. On Friday, former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant went off on the organization. Along with some of his former teammates in a series of Tweets.
Bryant was released by the Cowboys in April. ALso, he was responding to a tweet from SiriusXM NFL Radio, which summarized part of an interview Dallas executive vice president Stephen Jones. On Friday by writing: “Stephen Jones on Dak [Prescott] improving: Dak is working on his game & accuracy. He has to trust the system. I think that was tough last year with @DezBryant in his ear. I think he’ll have the year he had last year if not better!”
After seeing the SiriusXM tweet, Bryant responded on Twitter. “Here we go with that scapegoat shit. I charged everything to the game and went the other way. Y’all know what the real problem is .. don’t put it on me with that bullshit.. garbage ass play calling.. Everybody lined up in the same spot for 17 weeks..”
Bryant also called Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones “clueless,”. This was before going on to blame his release on center Travis Frederick and linebacker Sean Lee, whom he called a “snake.”
“Jerry was the only one who was clueless.. shit was planned to get me out ask Travis and my brother snake Lee I mean Sean Lee.
Dallas Cowboys News
When asked by one of his Twitter followers about why he thinks Lee is a snake, Bryant said, “Yea he supposed to been my brother .. we laughed talk about goals and stuff he sat right across from me in the locker room..never thought we had a problem.. I got cut.. he was the first to know.. I find out he was also behind it. Damn!!”
When reached for comments at the Dallas Cowboys training camp, which opened during the week, Lee denied having anything to do with Bryant’s release.
“First thing, to say that I can get anybody off the team and have any influence on the roster is absurd,” Lee said. “Second thing, I love Dez and I want the best for him. You know, to be honest, we did butt heads because I wanted Dez to be more accountable to this team and his teammates, and to be honest, a lot of the team felt that way. I think he needs to look at himself and hold himself accountable.”
Ready for some NFL football? Use this Detroit Lions season preview to help you with your Lions betting. Do the Lions running game have what it takes?
The Detroit Lions finished last season with a 9-7 record. They missed out on the playoffs. This led to the team firing head coach Jim Caldwell. Caldwell was replaced with former New England Patriots defensive coordinator. This was Matt Patricia. With a new coach in charge, the Lions’ odds of winning the Super Bowl is +6000.
Since Patricia is a defensive minded coach, the Lions are expected to be improved defensively this season, which is very important this season with the Minnesota Vikings signing Kirk Cousins and Aaron Rodgers returning from an injury-shortened 2017 campaign.
Patricia didn’t waste any time putting the right pieces in place. The Lions signed linebackers Devon Kennard and Christian Jones, and brought back cornerback Nevin Lawson. They also brought back safety Tavon Wilson and added former Seattle cornerback DeShawn Shead.
With the moves the Lions made, their defense is expected to be much better than it was last season, which should help them deal with the Packers and Vikings, who are expected to have potent offenses next season.
Detroit’s offense played well last year, but as the case has been for the past few years, they were one dimensional because they didn’t have a consistent running game. The team addressed their running game issues by signing former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeGarrette Blount, who led the league in rushing touchdowns two seasons ago.
If Blount plays as well as he did two years ago, he will take a lot of pressure off quarterback Matthew Stafford, who threw for over 4,000 yards last season.
With the Vikings expected to win the division, the Lions will likely be fighting for second place with the Packers. But if their defense plays well under Patricia and their running game is consistent, they should be able to make the playoffs next season.
In shocking news from the Titans, DeMarco Murray announces retirement. The Dallas Cowboys dodged a bullet did they not? Former Tennessee Titans running back, DeMarco Murray, surprised a lot of fans this week when he announced his retirement from the league after seven seasons.
“It’s been a long time thinking, the last year or two, and physically, mentally and emotionally, I think it’s time for me to hang it up,” Murray said while making his announcement on Friday.
The 30-year-old Murray was released by the Tennessee Titans during the offseason, but he was expected to sign with another team before the season started.
In 2016, he led the AFC with 1,287 yards, but he rushed for only 659 yards last season, a career low. One of the reasons Murray struggled last year was the fact that he was dealing with injuries throughout the season.
After the season, Murray laughed off the notion that his days as a starting running back were over, saying he still believed he can be a very productive back in the NFL.
Another NFL Early Retirement
“I feel very confident in myself. Excited for the future. Excited for my future. I know what type of player I am,” Murray said at the time.
Despite rushing for a career low last year, Murray received a lot of interest from teams needing to add depth to the running back position, but the 2014 Offensive Player of the Year decided to walk away from the sport.
“It’s bittersweet, but for I think me it’s the right timing for myself and my family moving forward,” Murray said.
“I think you just wake up,” he said of making the decision. “I’ve always heard the saying, ‘When you know, you know, and one day that day will come.’ And for me it’s been the last year or two. I’ve been constantly thinking about this. Working out still, in great shape, feel great, and it’s time. It’s time for me.”
He’s been waiting three years to get inducted into the Hall of Fame. Wide receiver Terrell Owens decided to stick it to the Hall of Fame voters on last time by decided not to attend the induction ceremony. As expected, some of the people that had reluctantly changed their vote to let him in this year. They are already saying they wish they could take back their votes.
Despite the drama surrounding Owens. The receiver ended up doing a good thing for people who normally won’t get to attend the Hall of Fame induction. During the week, Owens posted a message on Twitter saying he will give his induction speech at his alma mater. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The university known for football. The gesture by Owens means a lot.
The Speech will take place on August 4. However, it is expected to start a few hours before the NFL’s induction ceremony.
“After giving it much thought. I have realized just how much I want to celebrate. What will inevitably be the best weekend of my life at a place that means so much to me.” Owens said in his statement.
Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame ceremony and game should be fun this year. Grab your popcorn. Enjoy this year’s Hall of Fame game as well.
“I’m proud to be a Moc. I’m honored to be able to share this experience with my family, friends, teammates and fans at the place that provided me an opportunity beyond high school and where I truly began to find myself as an athlete. Thank you to everyone who has supported my celebration decision. I look forward to seeing you all in Chattanooga,” he said in the statement, ending with his catchphrase, “Getcha popcorn ready!”
Owens, who was selected in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft. Drafted by the San Francisco 49ers. He finished his career ranked eighth in all-time receptions. Second in receiving yards. Also, third in receiving touchdowns. He will be inducted into the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame. Class along with Randy Moss, Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher and Brian Dawkins.
San Francisco 49ers legend, Jerry Rice, still wants to play. These days, it seem that more retired players think they still have what it takes. To play in the NFL. Despite the fact that some of them have been away from the game for a long time. When they were in their final years. They were a shell of their former selves.
Do the San Francisco 49ers need Jerry Rice? A few weeks ago, former San Fran cisco 49ers wide receiver, Terrell Owens, released a video of himself running a 4.3 40 yard dash. This is impressive considering he is in his 40s. Unfortunately for Owens, even if he could still contribute, no NFL team will sign him because of the baggage he brings with him, especially after announcing that he does not intend to attend this year’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Well, maybe the Cincinnati Bengals would take a shot on him.
If you though Owens was bad enough, Jerry Rice, who is considered by most to be the greatest receiver in NFL history, made headlines this week when he proclaimed he could still burn NFL defenses at age 55.
Rice, who was featured in this year’s ESPN’s Body Issue, said he has been keeping in shape since he retired and knows he can still play if he wanted to.
Jerry Rice Makes a Comeback?
Rice said he knew he can still play after practicing with the 49ers last season. What do you think?
“The young guys could not believe that after playing a game for 20 years, and being out of the game for 15 years or something, my body knew what to do — that I could run routes, that I could catch the ball, that I can beat them off the line of scrimmage and do all those things.” Rice said. “I think that really impressed them. But because I never got out of shape, my body just knew what to do the second I put on those football shoes.”
Rice doesn’t only think he can play, he believes he can still catch at least 80 passes a year.
“I still feel like today, if I wanted to come back to football and play football, I could do it, at the age of 55. I’m one of those guys that I still believe that if I wanted to, I could come back, catch over 80 balls and really be productive on the field. … I think I’m still explosive, and I think I still can beat up on some defenses.”

The Chiefs will also be without cornerback Marcus Peters, whom they hope Fuller will replace, and Derrell Revis, who didn’t play well last year.

Peyton Manning says Drew Brees deserves to break his passing records. This is before Brees retires. Former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback, Peyton Manning, tore up the NFL record books during his playing days, and retired with a lot of NFL passing records.
Three years since his retirement. New Orleans Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees is closing in on some of Manning’s records. The future Hall of Famer. Who was known for his competitive nature, surprised a lot of fans this week when he told reporters he believes Brees deserves to break his records.
“He deserves it. He’s been a great player for a long time,” said Manning, who first met Brees in 1998 when he was a rookie with the Indianapolis Colts and Brees was playing nearby at Purdue.
“Obviously, he’s just been the ultimate pro, taking care of himself, being in great shape. Credit to him for playing as long as he has at such a high level,” Manning continued. “He’s just been a great model of consistency, what he and Sean [Payton] have been able to do together for [12] years now.”
Manning retired from the league with 71,940 career passing yards. This was with 539 touchdown passes. Brees needs only 1,496 yards to pass Manning’s passing yards record. This is projected to take him five or six games to pass.
Drew Brees Legacy
“There’s a reason they put [the Saints’ Week 5 game] on Monday night. I don’t think any of us are dummies,” Brees pointed out.
Even though the passing yards record is well within Brees’ reach, the touchdown record will likely have to wait until the 2019 season, if Brees is still playing at a high level because the Saints’ quarterback is 51 touchdowns behind the record.
There is possibility of Brees breaking the record this season if he has a record breaking season like Manning did in 2013, when he threw 55 touchdowns. However, that is very unlikely considering Brees has never thrown more than 46 passes in a season.
Manning added that he thinks the touchdown record will have more meaning for Brees because the yardage record can be misleading because the six points from the touchdown means a quarterback is doing something good to help his team win.
“I know Drew feels the same way — you never play for individual records,” Manning said. “Drew has been the ultimate team player. It’s all about helping your team win. I know when he breaks any of these records, it’s not going to mean as much to him if the Saints don’t win the game that day.”
The Cincinnati Bengals had a very disappointing season last year, finishing with a 7-9 record. Despite the team missing the playoffs they are confident they will be back in the playoffs this year because they are loaded with a lot of talent. NFL betting picks have the Bengals not favored. This means they will not make the playoffs.
The Bengals offense will remain intact, but the team will make Joe Mixon, who had a solid rookie campaign, the starter this season.
Mixon split time with Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill last season but still led the team with 626 rushing yards and four touchdowns. He also had 286 receiving yards last season.
Andy Dalton struggled at the beginning of last season but eventually found his groove. Unfortunately, it was too late to help the Bengals make a playoff push. With a new offensive coordinator calling plays this year, the Bengals are hoping Dalton will get back to his Pro Bowl form. Dalton should have plenty of time to throw this season as the team focused on fixing their offensive line during the offseason. If the line can keep Dalton upright, he will have more than enough time to pick defenses apart.
NFL Betting Picks
A.J. Green went over 1,000 yards last season and finished with eight touchdowns, and will be expected to have an even bigger season this year with a running game that will keep defenses honest.
Defensively, the Bengals will have to play their first four games of the season without the services of linebacker Vontaze Burfict, who will serve a suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.
With Burfict out, the Bengals defense will need to step things up until he returns. Cincinnati’s defense will also need to do a better job controlling their emotions, which has been a problem for several years. The defense has cost the team a few games because they made dumb penalties at crucial times.
If Marvin Lewis can’t get his defense under control this season, he might finally run out of second chances with the Bengals and get his walking papers after the season.
