NFL Week 1 Regular Season: Carolina Panthers vs. Denver Broncos

The first game of the NFL regular season is the same game that was played in the 2016 NFL Postseason. The NFL has scheduled a rematch between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos. Although Peyton Manning will not be the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos, this game should NFL fans an idea if the Denver Broncos are the same team that they were last season.

Cam Newton and the Panthers will get a chance to show what they have learned in the offseason. The Panthers are coached by defensive mastermind Ron Rivera. Since Rivera’s arrival in Carolina, the Panthers have steadily continued to get better during his tenure. The Panthers have one of the best shots of repeating as NFC champions, therefore they may have a shot to win Super Bowl LI at the end of this season.

The runner up in the Super Bowl hasn’t been able to make it to the championship game in back to back years in quite sometime. Needless to say, the Panthers opened as a 1 point favorite, but as the week as has progressed, sports bettors have hammered those odds, sending the current point spread up to 3 ½ in favor of the Panthers.

With the quarterback position a question mark in Denver, it would be surprising to see the Denver Broncos win the game or beat the spread.
