Owens Plans On Giving Hall of Fame Speech At His College

He’s been waiting three years to get inducted into the Hall of Fame. Wide receiver Terrell Owens decided to stick it to the Hall of Fame voters on last time by decided not to attend the induction ceremony. As expected, some of the people that had reluctantly changed their vote to let him in this year. They are already saying they wish they could take back their votes.

Despite the drama surrounding Owens. The receiver ended up doing a good thing for people who normally won’t get to attend the Hall of Fame induction. During the week, Owens posted a message on Twitter saying he will give his induction speech at his alma mater. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The university known for football. The gesture by Owens means a lot.

The Speech will take place on August 4. However, it is expected to start a few hours before the NFL’s induction ceremony.

“After giving it much thought. I have realized just how much I want to celebrate. What will inevitably be the best weekend of my life at a place that means so much to me.” Owens said in his statement.

Owens, who was selected in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft. Drafted by the San Francisco 49ers. He finished his career ranked eighth in all-time receptions. Second in receiving yards. Also, third in receiving touchdowns. He will be inducted into the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame. Class along with Randy Moss, Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher and Brian Dawkins.
